Memphis vs. UNLV Prediction: Week 0 Odds, Picks & Best Bet
Week 0 feels like Christmas morning as it is, but it feels extra special when my Memphis vs. UNLV prediction provides me with an early opportunity to fade Jackson Arnold.
Arnold has bounced to his third school in as many years after flaming out in the SEC. Now, we’ll see whether Dan Mullen can get more out of him than those at Oklahoma and Auburn did.
I’m skeptical of backing Arnold and UNLV as a 4.5-point favorite over Memphis. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (FOX).

Memphis +4.5 (-115)
Incoming Memphis defensive coordinator Lance Guidry could be a factor in this matchup as his aggressive defense should exploit the sack-prone Jackson Arnold. Blitz this guy, and he crumples. Pressure is something Guidry should know to dial up in this spot.
The fact that the line has moved in our favor since it opened at Memphis +3.5 is a blessing that I’m eager to accept rather than fret about the reason behind the movement. We can catch Memphis +4.5 with -115 odds at both FanDuel and DraftKings.
I would play it back down to Memphis +3 in a game that the Tigers could conceivably win outright if Arnold’s poor decision-making follows him to Vegas.

For as much as I expect a key Arnold sack or turnover to put Memphis in position to steal this one, I also see the offensive environment as an overwhelmingly positive one.These two teams combined to average 65.2 PPG last season, both sitting among the FBS top 25 in scoring average. In the dome at Allegiant Stadium, these passing offenses should look to air it out -- with potential short fields after turnovers leading to even more scoring chances.
