All I see on my timeline is a bunch of Republicans and legacy media reporters parsing every quote and comment from AOC in Germany, trying to mock them for incoherence or inaccuracy, meanwhile a ranting demented old man who can’t string sentences together, stay awake, or identify Germany on a map sits in the Oval Office, re-elected, while the legacy media happily sanewashes his ridiculous garbled quotes on a daily basis while refusing to ever question his total ignorance on every issue. Remarkable.

The study adds to a growing body of evidence indicating American families pay a price for Trump’s import taxes, despite the president's assertion that the financial burden falls entirely on other countries

Trump's tariffs equated to a tax increase of $1,000 per household in 2025, according to a Feb. 6 report from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation. Households are expected to pay another $1,300 in 2026.

The tariffs are the largest U.S. tax increase since 1993, according to the Tax Foundation analysis. Tariffs are a tax − but on whom?

On the campaign trail in September 2024, promoting tariffs, Trump told supporters, “It’s not going to be a cost to you, it’s going to be a cost to another country.”

Trump repeated the claim in a Jan. 30 op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, writing, “The data shows that the burden, or ‘incidence,’ of
The tariffs has fallen overwhelmingly on foreign producers and middlemen, including large corporations that are not from the U.S

“In sum, U.S. firms and consumers continue to bear the bulk of the economic burden of the high tariffs imposed in 2025,” the researchers wrote.

The study affirms what many economists had predicted: That Trump’s tariffs would be mostly a tax on Americans.

The funniest thing I heard all week, besides Pammy Jo telling us that the Dow is over 50,000 dollars, was the lying sack of shit in the Oval Office telling us that no president in the history of the USA understands how tariffs work more than he did (Trump), that we won't pick up a penny of the import tax, yadda, yadda, yadda,

Meanwhile, anybody who took basic economics and finance in college knew better.

The Georgia special prosecutor seeking to convict former President Donald Trump for election interference met with Biden White House officials on the same day Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as special counsel to probe similar federal charges against Mr. Trump, according to court records.

"Fifty-nine percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of their cost of living, 43 percent strongly, according to a Reuters-Ipsos poll conducted Jan. 23-25. He performed better on employment and jobs, though half of the respondents still disapproved.

The survey found that only 28 percent of Americans said the economy is on the right track.

White House officials also pointed to a four-year low in median national rents and a four-year high in the Intercontinental Exchange’s mortgage affordability index.

But those measures offer only a partial snapshot. To return to pre-pandemic affordability levels, household incomes would need to rise more than 15 percent while home prices remain flat, the exchange reported this month. Grocery prices remain volatile, with some falling and others rising — a mix that has made day-to-day food costs uneven for consumers."
