I knew nothing about Jake Lang but was his wait a deliberate government decision or merely caused by a total overload of a system simply not capable of handling the hundreds of cases of charges against Jan 6 defendants within a reasonable timeframe?

From where I see it these cases are very different and your attempt to compare them is ridiculous.

Yes, full sympathy for Jake Lang for having to wait so long for justice but what was the alternative when there were hundreds of such cases awaiting hearings.

Seems to me he ended up favoured by the decision of a man grossly abusing his pardon powers and thus being freed a good deal sooner than justified?

But frankly I don't know enough about the merits or otherwise of his case. And it's now too late to bother.

In the case of Garcia, he has yet to be charged with any crime - simply whisked away to a life sentence in El Salvador contrary to a clear judicial instruction and denied any natural justice.

Of course you’ve never heard of Jake Lang, the democrats and the media didn’t care that he sat in prison for years without a trial because the democrats were the ones who did that to him.

I didn’t realize your Constitutional rights were only respected if the conditions were right. The fact is, there were literally thousands of cases in the district where he was being held that went to trial while he sat in prison.

The alternative is to let him go to at least house arrest, maybe even send him home with a summons to appear.

You don’t need to know much about the case, the main problem is he sat in jail for over 3.5 years with no trial in a clear violation of his 6th Amendment rights. No congressional democrats visited him in jail, nor did any ABC NBC CBS CNN MSNBC run any stories about what was happening, all because democrats were the power brokers and Mr. Lang voted the wrong way.

I hope Trump can do that to the democrats.
