The hollow promises of a corrupt regime should ALWAYS be questioned no matter what party they claim to represent. We will not even begin to list all the RINO/DIDO scum that went right along with them. I am beginning to wonder if the Democrat party are ALL seeing the promises through the hollow end of a cocaine straw as only a truly wasted drug addict would see the promise of four more years of this regime. -
Someone's on vacation and gets ill for 5 months? Let them stay, help them get well and send them home with the invoice for payment. No payment, no return.
Go back to pre-Obama era border policy. Some of the only decent things in the "Patriot" Act were the border and port security measures.
I have no idea how many thousands (not millions) we allow yearly, but no more taxpayer funded anything for all illegal or legal immigrants. They can make a living like the rest of us or start a GoFundMe page.
Unfortunately, us taxpayers fund everything, including billions in US interest across the globe. It would help to get more people on the tax roles and wealthy people pay their fair share.Leave a comment:

I’m not sure there’s a way you can have legal, safe and effective immigration. Too many variables.
Someone visits the US on a vacation. He gets deathly ill and in a hospital for 5 months overextending his stay. Now he’s illegal.
You bring in 100,000 immigrants legally, it’s inevitable some of them may break laws, do dumb shit like the rest of us.
What is the most effective immigration? How many people do you bring in each year? What countries? What talent, skills? That’s anyone’s guess.

Although I do think the USA has benefitted from mass immigration in years past. If it can't be managed then either can the inevitable problems from too many heading to the same locations.
Govt needs to know numbers to manage services and infrastructure properly.
A system to both assist the people coming over the Southern border and make sure those people also benefit America would be better than just trying to lock them all out though.
An economic zone where cheap manufacturing to rival China can be legally established might be one way.
It’s a difficult, complex problem. Both parties are responsible and neither should weaponize it. They should come up with solutions. Just simply closing our borders totally, is one of the worst ideas. Arresting small children and separating families is another bad idea that costs us much more. This is a humanitarian issue as well. Good people will not stand by and watch young people be neglected, no matter what country they come from. I think we need to invest more in Mexico and South America. Make it so great down there, that more people won’t want to stay here. But maybe it’s all a part of a higher plan. Destroy countries like Haiti, etc., so that we keep getting the cheap labor. We’re not told the real story.Leave a comment:

We are the world leader in EVERYTHING because we take in immigrants. Illegal and legal immigrants is why we’re the best. The big secret both parties won’t tell you is that we need illegal immigrants too. Shhh, don’t tell anyone that but without illegals, a loaf of bread would cost $10 bucks. Trump knows that but he won’t say it because he wants votes. O

^ Slick - so how do you feel?
Do you know that we have enough land in the US, that every man, woman and child on the ENTIRE planet could have almost half an acre. Throw in Canada or Mexico and there’s enough room in North America for everyone in the world.Leave a comment:

Immigration is very complex. It is not so cut and dry Trump has tried to make it. Trump is known to be an isolationist. That is not the way to remain the world’s power. We need talent. We need immigrants. We need millions of new workers each year. Where do you think they come from? You have to manage it. Totally shutting off the talent will never work. Even Trump knows that. Here’s a good read on the subject and why criminalizing immigrants is not very effective. It just ends up costing us more money.
Over the last two decades, the federal government increasingly has utilized the criminal courts to punish people for immigration violations. This overview provides basic information about entry-related offenses, including the significant costs incurred by the government conducting these prosecutions, the individuals who are subjected to them, and how the government’s rationale for carrying them out is not supported by the data.Leave a comment:

I just don’t think the president can do much without support of congress. The people ultimately rule. The far left and right have the biggest mouths but I believe the majority of people are in the middle.I am active in my community, city and state. The minute things go off the rails. People get too stupid, I’ll go somewhere else. I love Houston. It’s the most diverse city in the world. People get along here. We don’t have dumb political fights. Most folks are reasonable. We support each other and are eager to help those not as fortunate. It’s a very giving city. We give to immigrants and don’t treat them like criminals. I wish the majority of the US was more like Houston.
Listen to Neil Diamonds, “Coming to America”. It’s all about giving opportunities to immigrants. I believe and know this country will only continue to be great when we assimilate immigrants into this country.
the US takes in 1.2 million immigrants legally every year. No other country comes close. These people immigrated within the laws of the country made by civil servants elected by THE PEOPLE who live there. Reasonable people have sympathy for the millions of people who have made the journey to the southern border in order to enter another country illegally, they are breaking the law. If is NOT Americas responsibility to take in everyone that wants to come to the US.
The elected civil servant's number one priority should always be its citizens. Their country first above all else.Leave a comment:

One thing I’ve learned through decades of presidents. NONE of them, nor congress will have an effect on my wallet. First off, the president does not have much power. 2nd, neither does congress. I am the controller of my domain. I don’t listen to the fears both parties peddle. I plan for the worst but hope for the best. If Texas went to shit, I have several states I could move to tomorrow. If the US goes to shit, I have several countries I could move to TOMORROW. I’m tired of the 2 party system. I have been for 2 decades now. I talk politics here in this forum as entertainment. I really don’t care what side wins. I will adjust.
I don't necessarily agree totally with the first 4 sentences. They do but mostly for the wrong reasons. But I definitely can relate with the bold partLeave a comment:

Maybe you are correct about Rep's wanting to get rid of Trump a few years ago. But not today. Look what your Gal has planned for you. She needs the money for her 'nonexistent border crisis', 'nonexistent inflation', 'nonexistent green deals' and her 'nonexistent support of wars' taking place around the world. Get that middle class, take all their 'will' and 'hope' and spread it out where it will do the least amount of good.

Sanford and son was the number 1 tv show for several years. WTH does that have to do with being sued almost a billion dollars for pushing lies.
I have no idea who spreads the most lies. I normally don’t watch the national news. I watch stocks, sports and an occasional movie. I’ll throw Fox and CNN up every once in a while like during debates or big national news but most of the time they’re both on mute.
I can tel you for me the Republican Party has sold their souls with the devil that is Donald Trump. I think the Trump years will eventually be seen as the most divisive in this country. A lot of republicans inwardly cannot wait to be rid of Trump. They have had to bite their tongues for far too long. Relief is on the way.

I agree.
I say your girl because you will be voting for her. You are definitely not voting for her opponent.. It's a negative approach by the left and their followers. More like a cult than Trump.
Kamala is not running on policy. Everything she say's now she ignored for 4 years. She even lied and said Joe was sharp and capable. She did not even have to debate anyone. They just threw her in there because radical Americans do not care about policy. Only what they can get for free.
Hollywood coming to Las Vegas. That is; if the tax breaks are significant enough. Hmmmm. That's fair, so long as it's not Trump giving the break, right. ?
How can Trump give a tax break to any one state.Leave a comment:

My girl?
I don't watch any of them. Since Fox didn't go to court and agreed to pay, hopefully they were not dishonest about that also. Being against my views is fine. Having that right is one thing that makes the USA so great. Lying, misleading, and leaving major parts of the story out to support your views, is wrong regardless who does it.Not covering a story is a choice they have a right to do, reporting a story and being deceptive, is just wrong. Defamation is wrong also.

No, I didn't. Being so bad as a network, I keep asking myself why they are number one watched over an almost combined CNBC and CNN.?. Which do YOU think spreads the most 'disinformation'. ?Leave a comment:

Slew^ You do know Fox settled. They were facing 1.6 billion. They cut the check quicker than they cut the anchors who spread the lies. You mentioned those other networks. Has any of them been sued over spreading lies?Leave a comment:

Amazing how it's the most watched station out of the top 5. So your beef is with Fox and not with CNBC and CNN and PBS, NEW YORK TIMES, CBS, NBC, ABC, WASHINGTON POST and so many others.?. Just single out one who is against 'your' views.?.
By the way. Just curious. Was the money paid.?. You got your info from the fake news, right.?. Being sued is one thing, paying is another.
Oh, one more thing. Your girl Kamala said she's going to close the border first day in office. About 4 years too late, wouldn't you say.?

I concur. What I truly do not understand is how 10’s of millions of supposedly intelligent people fail to acknowledge how fake the media is. How these people turn a blind eye to the facts. Then turn around and twist the truth even further.

And that's a problem how?
That Walz made a law that let the schools choose where to place them if needed?
Is that worse (or better?) than De Santis making a law to directing schools to not allow stuff like that, even where the school thinks it's needed?
Anyway, was more commenting on the tired old "fake news" line than Walz or tampons.Leave a comment:

when Trump calls 'fake news the enemy of the people', is he wrong? Of course he isn't. The fake news will tell you its outrages and that he's a threat to democracy and a Russian asset and a Nazi and a racist and who knows what else.
They despise Trump because he continuously exposes them for the throne sniffers of the democratic party that they are. Those who still believe the MSM when it comes to anything Trump, are the same.Leave a comment:

We all saw VP Biden do a quid pro quo in Ukraine threatening to hold back 1 billion if they don't fire the prosecutor who is looking into the corruption with his crackhead son and the energy company. Right there in the open and laughing and they refuse to believe it exists. Their eyes and ears are not to believed, they are constantly being told and its ok because everyone is doing it. So they just go along. Not everyone of course, but enough to keep the lights on it seems.
