1 Corinthians 9:19: “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.”

#564Make no mistake Freeze, folks are questioning what you speak of...lol.
Speaking from scripture is fine, but don't neglect the tangible world around you. It is through this tangible world that we are able to project Christ within us, so that, God willing, others may see it.
But seriously, here's the rest of my last post. It became so long, I just posted the first bit. Let me know what you think:
I really don't want to get too deep here, and this may be controversial, but understand that the Bible offers an incomplete explanation of our origins. Here's one small example of my view; a view you never hear in the twisted mainstream:
The bible says man was made from dust. But what did God make the dust from? We know he made the earth. For the authors and audience then, this explanation is far reaching and certainly enough. These days, we know that “dust” is comprised molecules, comprised of atoms, etc. To date, we’ve only found something like 92 or 93 elements in the entire universe.
It has been a wide consensus for some 40 years that every atom, every molecule, including those in every human came from an exploding star. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “we are stardust.”
Has science backed the Bible here (it wouldn’t be the first time), or is this just a coincidence? Is it just a matter of ancient, translated words versus modern words? Perhaps it is something to think about. One thing is for sure, if science is backing the bible, the champions in the media will never print that story.
While I’m getting personal and specific, let’s talk about Adam. In the Bible Adam starts out a man. I’m ok with this. However, I do believe that Adam, though a man, must have built in all the experiences and wisdom of growing up. He wasn’t just a man with no character or makeup. Even if Adam were never a child, it’s difficult for me to believe God didn’t give Adam the maturity that today people get when they grow up. (With one exception, clearly he learned his lessons about women much later in life……..hehehehe).
Likewise, God may have created man with the entire makeup from the tree of life, with an entire history of evolution already built in, and scientists have been unlocking that code, tracing backwards, for a while now.
Brainfreeze, I like and certainly respect you as a poster and I think we could probably go back and forth all day long here. You know science is constantly changing and that the Bible does indeed stay the same. There is wisdom in the ancient books, proverbs, psalms, etc. This wisdom applies today. After all, times have changed, but people, for the most part, people haven’t.
Although I question your trivial knowledge of science, I still think you are a thinker. As such, I would ask you for your thoughts. Your thoughts?

I don't neglect it, it's just not important ... Flesh and materials die, the soul and Spirit don't

Dust is dust... Dirt or "clay" .. He could've made us out of anything, He made it and us from His words, He said " let there be clay and there was... Just as He said let there be light.

As for star dust, stars are interesting to me, I do believe there's something angelic about them, they even led " the wise men " to Bethlehem for the birth of Christ. Should do more research on them, but there's a line there... between astronomy and astrology...

Adam and Eve were made perfect, perfect beings,.. The first man and woman to ever exist, they were innocent as children as well, until Eve was fooled by the trickery of lucifer, their innocence was gone " they knew they were naked " ...knowledge isn't what people think it is, if it's just, it's beautiful, if it's corrupt, it's ugly and a disaster, the majority turn to be a disaster, because they chase the flesh, riches, and human success and are never content, happy, or full... Always more, more, more, just go ask madoff, gates, or clinton.. What's the sign of those apple computers a apple with a bite bitten ? and what do they call RAM, mega BYTE, Tera BYTE, and so fourth... But yeah, They were perfect.. until fall
Likewise, God may have created man with the entire makeup from the tree of life, with an entire history of evolution already built in, and scientists have been unlocking that code, tracing backwards, for a while now.
No evolving... We were made perfect " in the image of God. Yes, they are unlocking genetics, not a good thing, they will make it seem like it is but they are messing with what God created. They will say it's ok because they can read dna and put things in place that we don't get cancer or this and that... Trust me, it won't be good if they keep going on with this,

Did you really even read my posts? Check yourself dude, I never even addressed non-believers in my posts. I called the believer, brainfreeze, ignorant because of his lack of understanding of science and the definitions therein. Did you get that last sentence? If not read it again.
In fact, Mr. Freeze accepted the fault and went back to posting from his area of expertise.
That's right; I argued with the believers and actually had a civil discussion.
This is where I should accurately insult you, but I won’t.
You are waaaay off here. I would never call someone ignorant for their lack of faith and I never did. You should read and try again. Scratch that, it’s ok if you stop trying.
You, raydog, either didn't really read my post, read what you wanted from it, instead of what was actually written, or are just plain lying on your post at my expense...not cool.
Regardless of your truth; your above post was quite irresponsible. You may have some points there, and I can give you a nod, but your gross misrepresentation of my posts does not go unnoticed.
In fact, if someone called you ignorant for your lack of faith in the unproven, I would take issue with them. It simply doesn’t work that way in my book and shows that individual lacks understanding.
No lasting beef with you raydog, but please don’t put words in my mouth (or post) that aren’t there.

#579It's all good Freeze, I too have had a change of heart from what I once was. I think some find it difficult that we can share and even argue are viewpoints and, at the end of day realize we have a lot more in common than we thought. It is a mystery to some that we can find a common ground, recognize we are human together and be civil. In the fight of good vs. evil, we know where we stand and we know the fight. I believe that when and if others can see it, they too would stand with us.
It's about understanding the human condition. Again I say, when it comes down to it, brainfreeze you wear your armor well.

#582What you fail to understand is that true believers arnt walking around with blind faith. When one has the spirit of God in them that moves, directs, and communes with them, how are they supposed to impute to the unwilling believer what is living inside of them. Its no different than if aliens exist and a person has seen one, but another hasnt, and that person trying to tell explain that they indeed exist. Not only does God exists, he communes, talks(spiritually) with the believer. Yet if one truly believes in God and does what he says as far as getting to know Him one will find out He is indeed as real as the bed you slept in last night. He said humble yourself and seek the Lord God and you will find him, IF you search after Him with all your heart. He later says the same, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with ALL your heart." Everything revolves around faith. Many times people will seek Him for a while and quit, well thats a lack of faith. Whenever the disciples failed in anything or couldnt heal or get something done such as casting a demon out, Jesus replied to them with the same answer every time, lack of faith. The problem is our flesh, sin puffs up the flesh, we live by our five senses, the natural, fleshly body you see of yourself, your children, every day people walking about, is not the real them, the real you and me is our spirit which never actually dies, which cant be seen with our five senses, when we sin it draws us further and further away from God, it changes the heart. For the carnal man its not an easy thing to submit, bow down and pray to God. The battlefield is the mind, thats where the war is waged, the mind is Satan's playground. When man is tired of tolling in the world, is fed up with seeing he really doesnt have the control of his life as he once thought, when life has literally beat him down, many times then he is ready to submit his flesh to God and willfully register unto the Spirit of the Lord.... so faith isn't something we have or just carry around in our pocket, it's something that constantly has to be exercised, so yeah Jtoler... Faith and prayer, BIG DEAL.

#586An interesting Op-Ed on secular families
Recent research also has shown that children raised without religion tend to remain irreligious as they grow older — and are perhaps more accepting. Secular adults are more likely to understand and accept the science concerning global warming, and to support women's equality and gay rights. One telling fact from the criminology field: Atheists were almost absent from our prison population as of the late 1990s, comprising less than half of 1% of those behind bars, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons statistics. This echoes what the criminology field has documented for more than a century — the unaffiliated and the nonreligious engage in far fewer crimes.Comment -
