10K, someone had only 320, so they bet all in, five callers, including me.

finished tied for 14th. AJ lost to AQ. KJ10 hit, giving the 10 to A straight.

In a standard situation, I probably would have played those hands the same as you, but needing a 7th to money I would have been more conservative. However, even so there is a good chance I would've been out with AJ vs. AQ anyway, so perhaps there was nothing you could do to help yourself but fold out. (And of course DS could still money and make it irrelevant.)

Quick bust in the 10pm for me. Robmpink was allining every 3rd or 4th hand and I had QQ in the small blind, so it was a no brainer call. He flips over A7o. I know what you are thinking, but you are wrong the A didn't come. Instead the flop was 965, meaning the 8 was certain to hit and sure enough it came on the turn.

Good thing I had first place secured or I might've been pissed. "Good game" everyone.

Epilogue: Rob busted 35th despite the doubleup.

I played like a moron. And ran into a call station. Also, lost to an Ace Rag vs two tens. Got short and had to push a K9 and got called by an Ace 10. Got on gut draw but nothing more. Bye Bye second place aspirations. Congrats Cuse

In your position, you were playing for top 4 or nothing so it wasn't a terrible idea to take some chances, but yah from the sounds of it you could've done better.

I sure hope you and I make "Team USA". If they indeed pick from the main event finale only, I will be pissed. Might as well just give 1000+ points to 36 random posters if they do that.

Thad, the AJ hand was when it was too late. BB was 300 and I had like 460 or something. I was getting drained by the ante and blinds. Had no choice but to try my luck with AJ.

Just some bad luck today.

I would've liked to play at 6 or 8 PM, but I had a ceremony to attend from 6:45 to 9:30.

In that case, absolutely even if you'd saved the ~1200 earlier, you should have been allin with that hand. Better play, perhaps, but the same end result.

Thought for sure once I went out tonight that you would finish in the top 4 to catch me. Congrats Thad and thanks for running this DS, was fun. Gonna PM you in a bit when I figure out if I wanna play in the next month contest and about my loan, etc. I'm all pokered out at the moment and take competition too seriously.

Let me just say that luck matters in these tournys... Ive seen plenty of situations where A7 beats JJ... but still if you're like to getting 8 2 every hand and suddenly get A7 i would be happy too
