#533One of best 80's songs.
And it's a teenage sadness everyone has got to taste
An in-between age madness that you know you can't erase
'Till she's sitting on your face
(And it hurts)

#541The cars, another great 80's band, their music like so much of the eighty's music was cruising music, windows down radio up, drinking a cold beer looking for young willing ladies to join the trip!
Tonight, she comes.Comment -

#544I was never into the culture, but live 80s punk shows were a blast. Yoiu had to be there to appreciate slam dancing eh Jibby!Originally posted by JIBBBYWe can't forget the punk rock movement in the 80's
You won't know most of the names I saw down here like The Lime Spiders and this mental Country & Western Punk group called The Johnnys, but I bet you liked The Exploited?.Comment -

#546Toni Basil.Originally posted by Da Manster! Some other one-hit wonders from the 80's besides "Mickey"...
What many don't know is she really was a choreographer, not so much a new waye singer.
David Bowie used Toni Basil to choreograph all of his movies, plus other projects with David Byrne.
I'm a huge David Bowie fan as well.

#553Nope :-( But I did go to a couple of parties and BBQs with the Finn brothers of Split Enz and Crowded house in the 80s!Originally posted by stevenashThe album "Kick" dropped in 1987, the epic Wembley concert was 1991.
I think Opti hung out with the Farriss brothers and Michael Hutchence.
First time I saw (or even heard of) INXS was March 1981. Have to admit that I didn't see the greatness at the time. Liked the two other bands on bill more (Sunny Boys and Cold Chisel).Comment -

#556Never heard of them. Must have been Aussie bands. Still punk rock is punk rock.Originally posted by OptionalI was never into the culture, but live 80s punk shows were a blast. Yoiu had to be there to appreciate slam dancing eh Jibby!

Here in America, we had Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedy's, Circle Jerks, Black Flag and Social Distortion. Punk rock 80's lol..
I think I was into it for a couple years then I was out. Slam dancing was brutal when I was a skinny teen. Could always catch an elbow to the face or come home with a few bruises. Lol..
Then the mod faze came. With the Madness band.. One step beyond and Our house in the middle of the street. Flat top haircuts. Good times back then with the music and trends.

#560Some others include Minor Threat/Fugazi, The Misfits, The Ramones, The Dead Milkmen, and Operation Ivy, just to name a few that were pretty big in the punk scene and I actually liked.Originally posted by JIBBBYNever heard of them. Must have been Aussie bands. Still punk rock is punk rock.

I discovered these guys while watching "Another State of Mind". I always really respected their straight edge values. This is from 1981.
The Dead Milkmen were pretty hilarious. I love these guys. They weren't too hardcore. It was comedy punk for the most part. This song from 1985 is hilarious.
The 2 main guys from this band went on to form Rancid in the 90's. Rancid's "...And out come the wolves" is one of the greatest "punk" albums of all time IMO. I wish more people from SBR had this type of "Knowledge" lol... This is from 1989.
