#638Thanks for that, god dam she's beautiful. I would bang her for her voice alone.
Any podcast out there that explain lyrics and song meaning? How they relate to history, ideology or self interpretation.Comment -

#639Case in point. All the Gen-Xers that loved Rage Against the Machine in the day. Now hate them since that found out what the music is about.
The meaning is in the name of the band.
Tull sums up those people pretty good.
Really don't mind if you sit this one out
My word's but a whisper, your deafness a shout
I may make you feel, but I can't make you think

#641Sorry I forgot to reply to that statement. That's a cool vid! Being mostly Irish and who's great grand parents came from Ireland. You would think I would know more about Irish oppression. But I'm not very hip on the topic. No I have not seen the movie, but I don't watch that many movies.Originally posted by stevenash
I do know that Rory Gallager was one of the few bands that would go into Northern Ireland to perform around the time of the bombings.
You tell me what that song means in the context of the film. I would say it shows contempt, perseverance and sadness from what I was seeing. But I haven't seen the movie either.Comment -

You pretty much nailed it.
Life and times of the innocents growing up in the IRA era.
The movie got ripped off from all the accolades because nobody wants to talk about the IRA bombings in Northern Ireland from the 60's and beyond.Comment -

#643The Police also did a great vid on this. Does seem like a meaningless fight. But like I said I don't know much about it. I think I would be on the side of the Irish though.Originally posted by stevenash^

Are you Irish? You seem interested in the topic and posted that Olivers Army vid?Comment -

#647Amazing how one hit was so detrimental.
People still don't get how much of a great band they were.

#655Jaker?
How was the punk rock scene on the west coast in the 80's?
I bet it was probably pretty much the same as the East Village was in NYC Bowery, CBGB's were huge back in the day.Comment -
