no question stocks really flew shortly after trump's election, i think the day or two after. i remember it because in my friend circle we have a hardcore dem / trump hater and he sold all of his positions when the market went red. he said "we are screwed". we have been making fun of him ever since, telling him to remove emotion from it and make decisions with better judgement. the trump bump has been phenomenal.

on election night when the futures went limit down, that was the biggest move in 7 years, and it was totally the opposite of what should've happened (like you said)... and stuff was nutso across the board, gold was up $60 on tuesday night and then went right back down $60 on wednesday

Don't forget - FED Policy Decision tomorrow at 2PM EST.

IMHO, those looking for the FED to go negative will be disappointed.

Well GDP dropped a little over the estimate for the first quarter and futures are up around 400 this morning. This rally is starting to get long in the tooth and everyday the market starts out with a initial push but by the close it peters out which is a bearish sign. Boeing already reported and they are getting rid of personnel which the market always likes so there will be a pop. That TESLA stock reports today as well, after the close I think, and right now I'm almost at the level of covering my short play with a 10-15% loss (ouch). So naturally today I predict Tesla stock rallys going into earnings and then when they present another loss of $0.50 a share, this now $800 stock will rally as if they blew out the numbers and probably go to $900 for no good reason other than why not.
I have notice that for the last couple of weeks that the bank stocks have not been participating in the rally which is showing that I am actually up on my short play which started a few weeks ago. Financials need to participate for the market to continue, so I see another bearish sign on the short term direction. Of course the Fed will be pumping up the market but watch out for a rapid change in the market direction the wall of worry is getting high in my opinion for the short term.

These FANG stocks are probably the only thing I see holding up the market at this point. Keep an eye on the Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, and Google (Alphabet) when they turn the market tanks again.

If it's any consolation, D2, I would have lost as well.

In the "Bear Camp" at the moment.

wow hertz (htz) might declare bankruptcy

$12/share in book value, but when that's all goodwill and other intangible assets it's worthless

unlike companies like bbby, their $9/share in CASH is worth $9/share

time has a way of getting things back to where they belong... i still don't know how bbby got down to $3... they could've declared a $9/share dividend with the stock at 3, that would've been hilarious

Yep, the below is from Microsoft's announcement:

everything was pretty much open until March 18 so only about 12 days missing from Q1 numbers.

we will see in 3 mos what the Q2 numbers look like and perhaps that is when the FIT hits the SHAN but perhaps the market will consider it a "throw away quarter" and look to Q3 and the future.

i am betting on the latter. again, many of us have been saying for 3 weeks not that there is a shift in the mood. it is undeniable.
