Lots of people are questioning the firing of the Rider coach Marshall... But after 8 games they were last in Points for, First in points against, and lost each of their 7 losses by an avg of 13 points...

Glad I stayed away from the game. I would have definitely taken the Esks. Shameful performance, losing to a team like the Lions at home 1:36
But I´m sure that from this point on, they can be only improving

Lions aren't a bad team, especially with 2 all star recievers... they just ran into a team worse than their record shows to keep them in the playoff hunt...

Not sure how many times I can attempt to research this game without reading about “Swaggerville?” … Ok we get it… Winnipeg Defense Good… But now with Hamilton winning 3 of 4, and really, should they have lost to Calgary after beating up on them at the half?
Winnipeg – Ya good… we heard (Mostly from them), but lets find some perspective here… They beat (up) on BC (2 Wins), Saskatchewan (1 Win), BC (Did I mention 2 Wins), and Toronto (2 Wins) in their past 4 weeks… 5 weeks ago, was their only loss to Calgary, and 6 weeks ago, they beat Toronto (Again, 2 Wins)… Then in the very first week of the season, they beat, go figure, Hamilton… If you remember, they were being outplayed all game, until QB Glenn through an out that got returned the distance, and then they were chasing the rest of the game…
I’m not saying that Winnipeg is not good, because you beat the teams in front of you, in the cases of BC, and Toronto, they helped Contribute to their 2 win season thus far of course. And we’re JUST 8 games in, but 8 games is quite some time to see what’s really happening here. The ‘Peg has beaten up on some weaker teams in the CFL, while Hamilton has basically been on a surge… Love getting the hook on the field goal here, and I think this game has the makings of a Hamilton win outright.
For once I really don’t love the total, even though I think it will be low(er), but 49 is really pushing where this game can end up… Last 4 games are split both in wins, and on the totals, so it’s really anyones guess. Another HUGE question mark for me is the status of Buck Pierce… EVERY FREEKING GAME… Yes he’s going to start, but will he finish? Just seems like EVERY FREEKING GAME they’re talking about his health, and EVERY FREEKING TIME he gets hit, they wonder if he’ll need help from the trainers… Makes me wonder about how this team will last the season if they have to deal with this EVERY FREEKING TIME…

Wow Beez, that's a lot of units on the HAM side. I don't know, a defense that stops and scores is great in my books. And I know how you're feeling watching Buck scramble around like a one-legged prostitute. But I think they have made their bones at this point and are looking to prove it. 5x is more or less a medium lean... I'm not a Winnipeg hater by any stretch, but I just don't know how I can bet that strongly on a team that has essentially beaten no one the past 5 weeks...
With that said, they sure made Toronto and BC look like no ones, so its definately a double edged sword when I say that... I do think Winnipeg will go through a slump sooner than later though.. right about now could be about that time... Tomorrow will be a big test obviously... Just think Hamilton will show up, we'll see...Comment -

I’m really interested in this Total of just under 55. Only because the last 3 of 4 have been over the mark the past 2 years, but going back 4 straight years in Calgary, hosting this game, they have literally AVERAGED just above 67 points (67,67,71,65)… Of course teams change, philosophies change, in Alberta, the bloody weather changes. But what’s really changed here? Same QB’s (Burris, Calvillo), same coaches (Hufnagle and Trestman)…pretty much same type of pass happy philosophies since the 2008 season… Of course the question is can Calgary maintain it momentum of last week scoring 45 points in Regina, and take that momentum with them this week at home. Looking up the last couple of games, Calgary has scored a at LEAST 1 TD in 7 of their last 8 quarters. Montreal – 6 of 8… Aside from The last 2 quarters against the Eskimos in that Blowout second half 2 weeks ago. With a number this high we need a TD from each team, once a quarter. We need pace. I think this game will find it.
I don’t really know how the “other” game will play out… I think the line is tight, and I’m pretty much going to guess that Calgary will have that edge at home, and reading all the early week media, they seem to be humbled and cautious of saying the wrong things to get the Al’s motivated… I’m going to stab at the Stamps at home small, but really hope both teams find the offenses in mid-season form.
