I am going to spend the money today on a pitcher. I like Josh Johnson from Miami. Johnson has been hot lately. He has a 2.29 ERA over the last 3 games with a WHIP of 1.17. He is averaging almost 6 strikeouts per game and 3 walks per game. He will face a Philly team that has struggled through pretty much most of the year hitting the ball. Johnson has a 1.69 ERA his last 5 starts at home against Philly while averaging 7.4 strikeouts per game and 2 walks per game over those 5 games. The price is high on Johnson but there are a few guys out there you can put in your lineup that should be able to produce. Like Cody Ross who is hitting .319 with a .758 slugging percentage against lefties whom he faces tonight in Wei-Yin- Chen whom he is 1 for 2 against this season.

#387Thanks jeeps, played 5 games on Fanduel last night on ended on the plus side. Having a hard time figuring out a lineup today. Leaning towards Greinke because he is so cheap even the past two starts have been horrible.Comment -

#394Thanks guys. It was decent night again. Got some strong pitching from Josh Johnson. Eric Young provided alot of the offense for me as he continues to stay hot. Hope everyone had a decent night. I will be playing just the night games tonight. Will be back later after I get a chance to take a look at what looks good for tonight.Comment -

#395Well I am going to spend the money on pitching again tonight but I am torn right now between Clayton Kershaw and Adam Wainwright. Both of these guys have been very hot and I think either one should be able to produce tonight. But on a tough note they are both priced extremely high so you need to really think about who to put in around them.
Adam Jones is on my list due to a nice price and he gets to face Araon Cook. Jones is hitting .400 his last 6 games and is a .294 hitter against right handers in which he has 18 of his 24 homeruns against righties. Jones is due for a homerun since he has not hit one since July 27th so he is due and he is hitting the ball well right now.
Allan Craig from the Cards is my most high priced guy besides my pitcher. Now Craig is another guy who is hot hitting .364 his last 5 games. He also hits lefties very well in which he is hitting .380 against them with a .728 slugging percentage. Craig gets to face lefty Joe Saunders tonight whom he has faced just twice in which he is 1 for 2 against.
I am have been looking there are some nice chea options at positions out there tonight. If Justin Turner is on the field for the Mets he could be an option only because Mike Leake is horrible. Tyler Flowers should get the start for the White Sox tonight due to them facing a lefty and he has looked good when he been on lately and he is priced right. Again looking at the Mets and Reds game Josh Thole could be an option behind the plate for the Mets agains a struggling Leake. Jared Dyson from KC has been hitting the ball well as of late. I know he gets to face Brandon McCarthy but KC is hitting the ball well right now.
There is plenty of talent out there if you go the route with the big name pitcher.Comment -

#403Thanks guys. I ended up with Kershaw on the mound last night mainly because of Pittsburgh being one of the 5 worst teams for K's. Well I guess it worked since he had 8 k's against Pitts. The one guy who really performed well for me last night was 2nd Baseman Kelly Johnson grabing almost 8 point for me at fanduel.
DTP, I play at fanduel, dailyjoust and draftday. The thing is you pretty much need a different stratagy for each site due to how different the scoring is for each one.
Panga, I like to play the 50/50 contest on fanduel and draftday. Every once in awhile I will play the big tourney on fanduel for the day either the $1, $2 or $5 game. I not big on them since you have so many people in them and yes there are plenty of payouts but man I am not that good yet at fantasy baseball. I wont play those big contests until I start averaging 45-50 per day in baseball on fanduel for about a week or two. I use to play those alot during NBA and placed in quite a few of them. NBA is my strongest daily sport it was my strongest betting sport also.Comment -

#405Carseller, Congrats on that hit in that tournament you played. I saw the post when I woke up in the morning, nice to see someone here is winning some good money. Those 50/50 tournaments are my prefered way to play. Still learning how to get better at this fantasy baseball stuff, being my first year playing the daily fantasy baseball.
Well gents onto tonight. I have really looked hard at a pitching matchup I like tonight. I have to agree with Pangea on Medlan from Atlanta. I was going to ride Chris Tillman again but I don't like him against Boston who is hitting .410 against Tillman in 39 at bats.
Medlan from Atlanta has been on fire with his 1.62 ERA and 2-0 record the last 3 games. Throw in the fact that he has a WHIP of 1.08 the last 3 games and is allowing an average of just 4.7 hits per game the last 3 games with a strikeout average of 5.3 over that span. One of the big things I like about him tonight is he is pretty much pitching for a starting job come September. Tommy Hanson is coming off the DL and Freddy Gonzalez said he will go with a 6 man roation until the end of August and the guy who struggles the most out of the roation will be moved to the bullpen. Medlan can improve his chances tonight if he can shutdown this SD team that is averaging just .189 the last 5 games against righties and just 2.22 runs per 9 innings the last five games against righties. The psychology factor in me has me going with Medlan due to him having that oppurtunity to become a starter in that rotation.
The pice is right on Medlan so you should be able to stack your team with some solid talent around him.Comment -

#414Arght guys. Looking over things I came down to Wade Miley or Ross Detweiler for tonight on the mound. I am going to go with Detweiler. Detweiler has bee solid over the last three starts and at home this season. The last 3 stars Detweiler is 1-1 with a 2.89 ERA and 0.75 WHIP. He is allowing 3 hits per game the last 3 starts while averaging just over 6 innnings per start. At home he has been real good. He is 5-1 at home with a 2.51 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Now he faces a Mets team that is the 3rd worse in MLB for K's against lefties. New York is struggling to hit lefties as of late. Over the last 5 games the Mets are averaging just .167 per game vs lefties and are averaging 1.6 runs per 9 innings the last 5 games vs lefties.
The Price is right to grab him tonight. Cheap price and you can stack your team with some heavy hitters.Comment -

#420Thanks guys. I was able to place again in the 50/50 I played. As I continue to learn this daily fantasy baseball stuff right now I am trying to get myself to average in the 40 point range on fanduel. I noticed if you are in that range majority of the time you will cash. I pretty much got what I expected from Detweiler i was hoping for a few more K's and maybe 1 less run. My lineup around him did well with Todd Frazier, Derek Jeter, Brandon Belt, John Jaso, Eric Young all really having good nights. If only my outfield of Hamilton, Kemp and David DeJesus would have performed.
Pangea, nice call on Cain last night. You found great value in him being priced so cheap while having a huge night.
Well time to start looking at today's stuff. I am only looking at the night games for today so I will be back later with what I am looking at for tonight.
One more thing. I am surprised that we are not getting some of the bettors into this thread. We all are throwing some great ptichers out there that continue to win games and these bettors could be making some good money using our fantasy advice for betting.Comment
