Anybody else looking at Chris Tillman from baltimore on the mound tonight? This is kid is 4-1 so far this season with a 2.70 ERA. He faced Seattle back on July 4th and went 8 and 1/3 allowing just 2 hits with 0 ER, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Seattle was hot there on a 7 game winning streak but then went into New York and lost 2 of 3 in which they scored just 6 runs the enitre 3 game series. This Mariners roster is just 4 for 47 (.085) against Him. Pricetag is nice on this guy he could be a steal.

#324Guys I was actually somewhat torn today on what pitcher to take. There were a few that are going tonight that have looked strong recently. I am though going to go the cheap route and play Blake Beavan from Seattle. There are a few things I like about this guy tonight. Beavan is 3-0 his last 3 starts with a 2.01 ERA and a WHIP of 0.72 all while averaging 15.7 points per game on Fanduel.com. Beavan has eaten up the innings his last 3 game going an average of 7.4 innings per game. He has been solid on allowing just 1 walk over that span and is averaging 5 strikeouts per game the last 3 games. Now the price is right on this guy and while grabbing him I am able to grab Mike Trout and Albert Pujols for my team tonight considering those two guys have been red hot and they will face Bartolo Colon whom Trout is 3-4 (.750) against and Pujols is 5-9 (.556) against Colon with both of them having HRS off him. I can't forget either that Seattle will face Zach Britton whom has gotten shelled this season which could give Beavan some confidence if the M's can get to Britton early.Comment -

#326Pangea, That is one of the other guys I was leaning towards. He has not been all tha bad on the road this season and has looked real good the last 3 with a 2.41 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. Doesn't hurt either that he is playing Houston.Comment -

#331I am not to pleased with the performance of Blake Beavan last night. After seeing the M's jump out to a 5-0 lead I thought he would have gotten comfortable and been able to hold the O's down. The innnings where there last night but his K's where down and he allowed too many ER's. Well that stuff happens. I took a gamble it didn't pay off.
For tonight's 7:05 Start time I am looking at Tim Hudson on the mound. Hudson is going to be priced a tad high but he has looked much better on the road this season then at home. Hudon is 5-1 this season on the road with a 2.22 ERA and a WHIP of 0.99. Opponents are hitting just .193 against him on the road in which he is averaging almost 7 innings per game on the road. The one downside to him is his strikeouts. Now he is facing a Philly team that has Ryan Howard who is a pro at striking out. Hudson has looked even better over his last 3 contests where he is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA and a WHIP of 0.95. Hudson is allowing an average of 5.3 hits per game the last 3 games with an average of 1 walk per game over that span. I like the fact that Atlanta gets to face Kyle Kendrick who they seemto hit pretty wll with Matt Diaz, Michael Bourn, Chipper Jones, Martin Prado all hitting above .300 against Kendrick.Comment -

#333Pangea, I like that Quintana pick also. He has pitched well at home thus far with his 2.31 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. He is allowing just an average of 4.8 hits per game at home. White Sox should get to Guthrie and score some run for Quintana. I do like the price on Quintana just got scared away from how KC pounded him n KC a few weeks back. Hopefully he gets some redemption on them this time around. Good luck tonight!Comment -

#335Pangea, I play on Draftday, Daily Joust and fanduel. I have thought about stacking plenty of times the problem if I do that the team I stack will end up getting no-hit or 1 hit. I play for just fun really. I put alot of time into it since I have a son that doesn't like to sleep so I am up early before I work. I usually just throw a 20 or two in and see how long it last me. I know I am not going to make a career doing this I am just into sports big time. Makes it more interesting when you are playing fantasy sports also.Comment -

#340DTP, I need to have that attitude about it. It is not like I am in need of money, I have a fulltime job that pays my bills and still allows my wife and I to live comfortably. To become a profesional playing fantasy sports you pretty much need to spend 12 hours a day looking through everything to set your lineup. Hard to do when you have a wife, kid and full time job. More power to the people that are able to do. I have to wonder at times, being a profesional handicapper or a profesional fantasy sports player is probably more mind boggeling than my job as a Physician Assistant.
allin, I am sure there are many people that do go to those lengths to look at what kind of pitches the pitcher will throw and what pithches the hitters he is facing struggle against. That is alot of time and effort and if you can do that is awesome since it does give you a leg up.
I don't know about today guys. I have run some numbers on what pitchers are out there today and there are a few who look good today. Still trying to see what other angles to look at and narrow it down.Comment -

#345DTP, I learned that discipline from betting. When I first got into betting on games I would bet on anything with a line. Damn when I was in college I would have bet on what color car the guy sitting next to me at a bar drove if you gave me a line on it. As my time went on I learned to pick and choose my plays that was going to make me money and as I learned that, my bankroll grew. Every true bettor will tell you money management is a big part of betting. I won't be sitting out today though, big card and I only have to work for a few hours since I only have two patients. Ill be back later hopefully with some strong plays today.Last edited by jeepsguy004; 08-10-12, 10:42 AM.Comment -

#346I have been looking over today's games trying to find what players I like. Billy Butler from KC looks like a solid play today. This guy is hitting .333 his last 7 game with a slugging % of .815. He has 3 homeruns with 7 RBI's over that span. I like his matchup today against Mike Gonzalez from Baltimore who struggles to kee runners off base with his 2.13 WHIP at home this season. Gonzalez has allowed 5 homeruns his last 3 games in just 16.1 innings pitched.
I like Eric Chavez from the Yanks, he could be another strong play today. Chavez has been red hot hitting .478 with a .957 slugging percentage his last 6 games. He has 11 hits, 7 runs scored, 3 homeruns with 7 RBI's. He faces Ricky Romero tonight from Toronto who has struggled his ast 3 games with a 7.53 ERA. Romero faced this Yanks team a few weeks back and got shelled for 6 runs on 12 hits in 6 innings.
Andrew McClutchen from Pittsburgh is going to be priced high but he does have some great upside for tonight. McClutchen has been an MVP caliber player all season and now he gets to face Edison Vasquez whom he is a a career .500 (4-8) hitter against. McClutchen is hitting .308 his last 7 games. Now Vasquez has not looked all that horrible this season but has struggled a of late with a 7.24 ERA the last 3 games allowing 11 ER, 11 Hits and 10 walks in 13.2 innings pitched the last 3 games.Comment -

#350Dodger, that might not be all that bad of a play. His price should be reasonable. He has struggled a bit as of late but Seattles offense looks terrible right now, scoring more than 2 runs just once the last 5 games. There is a reason why King Felix is a dog tonight considering that he has been on fire with a 1.54 ERA and 0.77 WHIP the last 3 games. Good luck man!Comment
