Believe me, I know the feeling!

Their anemic hitting has been painful to watch so far this year.

I'm almost afraid to watch them against Kershaw tonight, but I'm hoping the bats wake up very soon!

The Pirates have scored 6 runs and are hitting .117 as a team after 5 games heading into Sunday.

Jay Bell won't be the hitting coach much longer if this continues...

McCutchen and Marte are the only guys hitting right now.
They will break out once they play the Reds...

Meanwhile, your Reds are the 2nd highest scoring team in the majors so far...

Check that, The Big Red Machine is now easily the highest scoring team in baseball with 51 runs to date.

On another note, Jeff Weaver is out at least a month with a broken elbow.

Props to Cards' Westbrook for shutting down the Reds today.

thoughts on Barry Zito? is he back? he has reinvented his game?

dominated in playoffs last year, and has 2 quality starts so far this year. Has 16 straight wins dating back to last season.

BUT his fastball is sitting at only 83-84mph , hes old, and we all know the other side to barry

                              what do you guys think?

matt carpenter is on a tear, he is available in a lot of leagues...also has great eligibility and will become 2B eligible very soon

evan gattis the catcher for the braves is a great fill-in while mccann is on the DL. hes been crushing the ball

dont buy too much into the john buck hype, now is a time to sell sell sell if possible, he is playing out of his mind but when he comes back to earth it wont be pretty

i just read an article on yahoo about a kid named Tony Cingrani, he is a highly touted prospect in the reds system...dusty baker said he is the first kid they will be calling on if someone goes down...he struck out 172 batters over 146 innings last year in the minors with a 1.73 ERA. may be worth a stash in the NA spot if you have that available in your league

Cingrani should be a major leaguer. He pitched well out of the bullpen last year in limited innings. The only spot he can take is Mike Leake's if he absolutely struggles or they suffer an injury to the rotation. The team was pretty healthy last year.

I put in a waiver claim for Carpenter after our league drafted and the only manager with a higher waiver priority got him.

Picked up Buck earlier this week but am keeping an eye on him and will drop him after a bad week.

Gattis already picked up on Wednesday in our league.

Dan Murphy (Mets 2B) is poised for a big year this year if he stays healthy. He has a great eye and bat stroke at the plate.

i like him as my 5th starter. he finally seems comfortable on mound again. maybe not being counted on to do too much loosened him up.

Phil Irwin (Ole Miss) makes his MLB debut for the Bucs today as they go for the sweep against koz-man's Reds.

The Pirates offense is starting to wake up a little bit and they're getting some decent pitching.

Hard to believe they're only 2 GB in the NL Central after their dismal start to the year!
