I just picked up Matt Adams, 1st baseman for thre Cardinals(backup?)
got me a home run, batting over 600 right now.
I recommend him for a neat little pickup if you got room

I was tempted several times to drop Pedro, But I'm going to trust you SS and keep him a little longer.

I'm quite frustrated with Alvarez. He is useless. I had him two years ago and he was awful. I pick him up this season while I wait for Lawrie coming back and he is even worse. I would have been better off starting nobody there for the start of the season.

Another night of nothing out of El Toro. His average is down to .073 heading into tonight with only 1 RBI.

The Bucs can't afford to keep him out of the lineup, but at this pace, a day off may be the best remedy...

I would highly recommend picking up Starling Marte if at all possible.

Marte is on the hot list now. Hard to get.
I'm glad I picked up Carpenter (1b,2b,3b,of) Stl. a while back.
He is filling in @ 3b till Pedro starts blasting homers.

Not a good start for a streaky player.

Thankfully Lawrie was activated today, so I can get Alvarez out of the lineup. I considered dropping him, but he stays on the bench for now.

Stop the presses! El Toro collected his 2nd RBI of the season last night AND raised his average to .089!

I also have a feeling that A.J. is going to toss a no-hitter this year...

I'm excited. He thew well last year in a very small sample from the bullpen. I hate that he is starting at the expense of Cueto, but let's see what he can do in about 3 starts.

Cingrani's start always comes with the caveat that he played against the Marlins; but I'm not sure he will have any long term success as a starter. Last night he threw 82/102 four seamers. Its very hard to to rely on a fastball as a starter, especially without having great command.

His fastball is very good, and his slider can be good but inconsistently, as a starter he will have some extremely good outings but will also have some very bad ones

I'm glad Tonys' first outing was a good one & hope he keeps it up.
Better yet.. I'm glad for another W for the Reds.

I realize it's still very early, but I am also surprised at the lack of production so far from Martinez.

In my opinion, both he and Pedro will turn it around and go on to have solid seasons...

Im still holding him myself. He is showing good discipline and his contact/swing rates jive with his 13%BB and 11%K. His Babip is brutal at just 190, but he going to have a hard time matching the 300+ babips he's posted in the past. His Babip is also killed by the fact he's posting the highest FB rate of his career @ 46.6%, add in his flagging power which has been been slowly going away before his injury and his 30th birthday and the reality is looking elsewhere may be the right way to go.

As long as he stays in the middle of the Tigers order he will still get chances. As far as Gattis, even once Mccann and Freeman are back he will still be playing 3 days a week; so it really depends on your league if thats worth having around - otherwise you can try to flip him now to upgrade you catcher.
