Very nice card last weeks Pags.

Some intriguing picks this week. I've been a fan of June Jones since his days with the Falcons and have always loved the concept of the run n' shoot offense. June was a perfect fit in Hawaii with that offense and I think he will prove to be an even better fit at SMU once he has a few more recruiting classes and get the right personnel to make his offense excel. The improvement that June has made is already evident with SMU knocking off UAB and East Carolina earlier this year. While Navy is a good football team, I like the ponies in this spot. However, I will be interested to see your right up on the Ga Tech pick. Ga Tech seems to be one of those teams I just can't figure out. Earlier in the season, the team seemed to get so fatigued in the second half of games (see Clemson and Miami). However, recently they have been playing well on the offensive side of the football hitting big play after big play but their defense has been very suspect giving up 31 to Miss St and 44 to FSU. But they manage to win (and cover) both games. Looking forward to your write-ups for the week and Good Luck with all your plays.

I get asked that frequently and my response is always the same...I play all of the games for an equal amount...I've learned in the past that the game you think has the best chance to cover sometimes doesn't and the one you think may be your weakest play has the best chance of covering...

pags, apologize if it's already been asked/posted...... but any opinion on CSU +22 @ TCU. as someone else said somewhere, TCU doesn't seem like a team to cover big Spreads.

I'd be very, very careful here, poison... That line of thinking "team x doesn't seem like a team that covers big Spreads" often leads to disaster/disappointment.

baba, appreciate the advice, but that type of thinking is a good part of my handicapping (obviously i do work to back it up, at least in my own mind)

a good example was the guy's nebraska house bet thread. i gave him 3 ideas purely based on whether the favorite scores enough to cover decent spread. and i went 3-0 although 2 were close covers. of course, i have terrible runs sometimes too, don't get me wrong.

Any thoughts on Wash +6 1/2 at Arizona State. Az. State is awful and Wash has showed me enough against USC and Notre Dame along with coming back to beat Arizona this past weekend.

Well Pags, I went with my gut and took Tulsa +9.5... Boise St. was just too easy! I only put a unit on it though, oh well... I wish you had cashed on this as well, great start to start the week, already 2-0 and up a couple units (cashed a teaser last night in the shitfest that was ULM/Arkansas St., Had Ark. St and the under teased)...

Can't wait for the writeups and Saturday!

at the current number I would have a slight lean to Washington, but my good friend gyno has a big play on ASU at 3 and he knows the Pac 10 way better than me...that all being said, I'd recommend a no play...
