England entered Euro 2024 as the favorites to win their first-ever European Championship and opened with a victory, but France and Germany have joined them as co-favorites as we check out the Euro 2024 odds across our best soccer betting sites.

England haven't won a major international tournament since their 1966 World Cup victory, despite coming oh-so-close to ending that streak at the 2020 Euros before falling 3-2 on spot kicks to Italy. There was a lot of hope it was finally coming home in 2024, but this start hasn't been convincing.

They opened the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Serbia on Sunday, although they perhaps weren't as dominant as many expected out of the gates. They drew 1-1 with Denmark in their second game, and perhaps they looked worse than in their opener. It's been a troubling start for the pre-tournament favorites, and while they haven't fallen far off the pace, they're no longer the favorites.

France have jumped England atop the oddsboard, despite also winning 1-0 in their opener - and on the strength of an own goal by Austria.

Host nation Germany grabbed a 5-1 victory over Scotland on Friday and confirmed a spot in the Round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Hungary. That start has been enough to propel them past England as well.

Euro 2024 betting favorites

France (+400 via bet365)

Lionel Messi and Argentina narrowly defeated France on penalties during the 2022 World Cup Final. Fortunately, the French don't need to worry about facing Argentina now.

As demonstrated in the World Cup, boasting the best player on the pitch is advantageous in tournaments of this nature. Thanks to Mbappe, France can confidently make that claim in every match.

They also enter the tournament with added confidence after beating England in the quarterfinal of World Cup 2022.

France kicked off play with a bit of surprising result and a bit of bad news. France picked up all three points in a 1-0 victory over Austria, but the lone goal was an own goal, and Mbappe left with a suspected broken nose. He won't be an option to face Netherlands on Friday. He has, however, decided to pass on surgery until after the tournament.

Germany (+425 via DraftKings)

Germany's short odds are mostly coming due to playing at home. But Germany are starting to show some signs of life under coach Julian Nagelsmann after being bounced out of two successive World Cups in the group stage. They won only three of 11 matches in 2023, but the squad rebounded with impressive victories over France and Holland this past March.

The Germans are in a group with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland, which should provide a relatively straightforward path to the knockout phase.

England (+475 via Caesars)

The 2020 Euro runners-up look poised to exact revenge for that result. It's an England squad bursting with individual talent, including some of the Premier League's best players, the Bundesliga's top goalscorer, and Real Madrid's young superstar. Through two games, Gareth Southgate has not got the best out of his team.

Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, and Jude Bellingham will spearhead the most potent attack in world football. Harry Maguire was omitted from England's final roster due to his inability to recover in time from a lingering calf injury, so the Lions will either be forced to go with an inexperienced center-back to partner with John Stones or switch to three at the back. The looming question is whether England's defense is elite enough to prevail over Europe's best. Opening with a clean sheet is a good start, but the opposition was not one to the feared.

England are in Group C with Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia, and they should have won the group relatively easily. A 1-0 win over Serbia got the action underway, but a 1-1 draw with Denmark in their second game puts a little more doubt on that than expected.
