NHL Player Props Today: Best Bets & Goal Scorer Picks for Monday
Last Updated: December 8, 2025 8:00 AM EST • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
My NHL player props for today feature four players from the Eastern Conference, including two Detroit Red Wings.
As part of my NHL best bets, I'm backing Lucas Raymond to add to his assists tally and Alex DeBrincat to light the lamp in Vancouver. The second featured game occurs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where I expect Auston Matthews and Brandon Hagel will have productive evenings.

⬆️ Auston Matthews player prop: Over 3.5 shots (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Matthews hit the Over in three of the previous four games. He's also been productive at home recently, registering at least four shots in four of the last five. He only had one against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, so I expect the Buds' captain to fire on sight against an in-form Tampa Bay Lightning.
Matthews has fared well historically against the Lightning in the shots department, cashing the Over in six of the previous eight. He's averaged 5.75 per game in that sample size.
FanDuel has the best price among the best sports betting sites, where a winning $10 bet pays $8.77.
⬆️ Lucas Raymond player prop: Over 0.5 assists (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Raymond hasn't gone more than two games without an assist all season. He leads the Red Wings with 21 in 27 games, three ahead of second-place Moritz Seider.
He has a helper in five of the previous seven games and is facing a Vancouver Canucks team with the second-worst home record and third-worst defense at Rogers Arena.
Raymond notched two assists in the previous three games against the Canucks and is primed to add to his tally. BetMGM's -110 odds carry a 52.09% implied probability, and a winning $10 bet will profit $9.09.
🥅 Best NHL goal scorer picks today
🔥 Alex DeBrincat (+145) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I backed DeBrincat to score against the Columbus Blue Jackets last week, and he came through. Only two players - Morgan Geekie (11) and Jason Robertson (14) - have more goals than DeBrincat's 10 since Nov. 13.
Those 10 goals came over a 13-game stretch, with the 27-year-old scoring in two of the previous three. DeBrincat has enjoyed success against Vancouver recently, lighting the lamp three times in the last two meetings.
He'll be focused on making Vancouver's porous defense pay, and if he does, you'll earn $14.50 on a $10 winning bet at FanDuel.
🔥 Brandon Hagel (+175) ⭐⭐⭐
Hagel probably won't have linemate Nikita Kucherov by his side on Monday, as the diminutive Russian is day-to-day with an injury. That's why it's a three-star play. It's still worth a shout, though, as Hagel has 10 goals in the last eight games.
He only failed to score in two games during the current eight-game streak. Hagel hasn't scored in five games against the Maple Leafs, but his recent form and the fact that Toronto doesn't have either of its first-choice goaltenders available should help his cause.
Hagel's odds range from +165 to +175, with DraftKings providing the latter. Those +175 odds imply a 36.36% probability. You'll earn $17.50 in profits if he scores.
