The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs meet on Monday for Game 2 of their first-round series as we offer our top Maple Leafs vs. Bruins player props and expert picks based on the best NHL odds

The Boston Bruins' dominant 5-1 Game 1 win marked their eighth consecutive triumph against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was also the third straight contest between the two loathed rivals in which Toronto failed to score more than one goal.

Unsurprisingly, the Maple Leafs' Stanley Cup odds took a stiff jab to the gut. Jeremy Swayman has allowed just six goals in his last five games against the Maple Leafs, all ending in Boston wins.

If the Maple Leafs have any desire to win their first playoff series in seven attempts against the Bruins, their defensive corps must show up and avoid another putrid pooper at TD Garden, with puck drop expected for 7 p.m. ET.

Here are our best Maple Leafs vs. Bruins player props and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins prop bet predictions for Monday

Mitch Marner Over 0.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and John Tavares were all held off the scoresheet in Game 1, while William Nylander didn't play for the first time all season. For the Maple Leafs to have any chance of securing a first-round playoff upset, Marner, Matthews, and Co. must show they have the guts to overcome adversity.

Marner has enjoyed success against the Bruins, at least in the regular season. He has 24 assists in as many regular-season contests against Boston. And despite a disturbing lack of team success in the postseason, Marner has 37 assists in 51 playoff games.

And then there's the morbidly obese elephant in the room when it comes to his woeful Game 1 performance. It's time for some serious soul-searching for Marner, who had at least one assist in six of the last seven regular-season games.

Betway offers -138 odds for Marner to notch a helper, which implies a 57.98% probability. A winning $10 bet yields a $7.25 profit

David Pastrnak anytime goal ⭐⭐⭐

It feels like David Pastrnak is due to light the lamp. The Bruins' marksman has just two goals in five games against the Maple Leafs this season despite tallying nine points. He had a helper in Game 1 and looked threatening occasionally. But he was by no means at his best. You know Pastrnak is playing at peak level when he's firing more rubber than a SWAT team during a training drill.

He had only three shots in Game 1, markedly down from his 4.66 season average and 3.90 shots-per-game average throughout his playoff career. Scoring at a .45 goals-per-game clip, Pastrnak has 35 goals in 78 playoff games.

Expect him to fire on sight, which should lead to at least one goal. Betway offers +105 odds for Pasta to score, which would yield a $10.50 profit on a $10 wager. The implied probability via our odds converter is 48.78%.

Jake DeBrusk Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Angry, focused, and keen on inflicting as much pain as humanly possible, Jake DeBrusk does his best John Wick impersonation when he plays the Maple Leafs. He scored two goals and an assist on three shots in Game 1. Lethal on the power play and an irrepressible five-on-five force, DeBrusk to notch at least one point offers excellent value, particularly at the plus-money odds Betway is providing.

DeBrusk has four goals and five assists in his last five games against the Maple Leafs. While not ordinarily a prolific scorer, DeBrusk almost always elevates his performances against the Maple Leafs and in the postseason.

A $10 winning bet at Betway's +105 odds will yield a $10.50 profit, implying a 48.78% probability.

Best odds: +105 via Betway
