Last Updated: August 27, 2025 8:53 AM EDT • 6 minute read X Social Google News Link

With the start of the NFL regular season in sight, I'm breaking down NFL win totals odds ahead of Week 1, offering three of my best bets to target.
The Buffalo Bills lead the pack with a 12.5 projected wins total, while the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, and Kansas City Chiefs are each lined at 11.5 projected wins.
I'm targeting teams a little further down the oddsboard with my futures bets at FanDuel, including two teams that made the playoffs last season.

Best NFL Over/Under win totals predictions 🏈
Here are my three favorite NFL win totals bets to target before the start of the regular season.
🤠 Dallas Cowboys Over 7.5 wins (-125)

The Cowboys are unlikely to make Jerry Jones' Super Bowl dreams come true this season, but I don't think we'll see a repeat of last year's 7-10 campaign. The bar has been placed too low for Dallas this year, and the team should be able to easily exceed expectations.
Dak Prescott is still a top-10 quarterback with one of the league's most dangerous offensive weapons - CeeDee Lamb - at his disposal. The Cowboys also added the mercurial but talented George Pickens as an elite No. 2 option for Prescott.
We don't need Dallas to be a powerhouse to hit on this bet; we just need the Cowboys to be mediocre, and having a talented and consistent performer at the sport's most important position is all the team needs to get there.
If Prescott stays healthy, which hasn't been an issue for much of his career, Dallas should clear this total and be comfortably in the playoff picture entering the final stretch of the season.
🦁 Detroit Lions Over 10.5 wins (+125)

Look, I am not saying the Lions are going to replicate last year's magical 15-2 regular season. What I am saying is Detroit is still clearly the NFC North's best team and likely to win at least 11 games in 2025.
Entering the season, there has been a lot of focus on the Lions having new coordinators on both sides of the ball, and for good reason. Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn were two of the league's best and earned head coaching gigs as a result. But regardless of how OC John Morton and DC Kelvin Sheppard fare strategically, they have a ton of talent to lean on.
The Lions still boast one of the league's most explosive offenses with quarterback Jared Goff, tackle Penei Sewell, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and tight end Sam LaPorta all making the Pro Bowl within the last two seasons.
Detroit's defense isn't quite as loaded, but the unit has arguably the NFL's top safety tandem (Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch) and will get Aidan Hutchinson back to start the season. Hutchinson led the NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds before breaking his leg in October, and he's the favorite entering 2025.
Leading it all is head coach Dan Campbell, who will keep the Lions among the NFC's elite teams. Detroit is also one of our featured picks as we explored the latest Super Bowl odds.
🐎 Denver Broncos Over 9.5 wins (-110)

The Broncos went 10-7 last year with rookie quarterback Bo Nix, sneaking into the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season.
Nix has seldom had stability at offensive play-caller going back to his college days. Now he gets one of the NFL's best, head coach Sean Payton, for the second straight season. I expect Denver to be a creative and multi-faceted offense with Nix and Payton at the helm.
On the other side, the Broncos' defense has the chance to be a special unit. Denver allowed the third-fewest points last season and continued to add pieces to its defense this offseason, including first-round cornerback Jahdae Barron and free-agent veterans Dre Greenlaw (linebacker) and Talanoa Hufanga (safety).
Could this be the year the AFC West is finally won by someone other than the Kansas City Chiefs? I expect Denver to at least be in the mix with double-digit wins.
