Super Bowl Odds & Prediction 2026: Bills Kick Off Week 3 Atop Odds to Win Super Bowl

Last Updated: September 18, 2025 7:46 AM EDT • 7 minute read X Social Google News Link

The NFL's Week 3 kicks off tonight at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., with the Buffalo Bills (+500) atop the latest Super Bowl odds. Buffalo leads the Baltimore Ravens (+550) and Green Bay Packers (+650) ahead of Thursday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins in the betting market.
Our NFL picks for Thursday Night Football expect the Bills to crush the Dolphins as a double-digit betting favorite. That sort of win is unlikely to seriously impact the Super Bowl odds. We may see a bigger movement following Monday Night Football between the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens.

Week 3's biggest games
- The Bills (+500) are laying as many as 12.5 points against the 0-2 Dolphins; an (unlikely) upset loss at home would lengthen their Super Bowl odds considerably
- The Packers (+650) are 2-0 and looking like the strongest Super Bowl odds contender in the NFC; they're in a similar position as the Bills as a 8.5-point betting favorite against the Cleveland Browns this week
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2200) are somewhat lucky to be 2-0 and atop the NFC South, but could take a step toward serious Super Bowl contention with a statement win over the New York Jets as a 7-point home favorite
- The Philadelphia Eagles (+750) host the Los Angeles Rams (+2000) as a 3.5-point favorite after last week's road win over the Kansas City Chiefs; the Rams could make a statement
- The Ravens (+550) host the Lions (+1400) to close Week 3 with both teams needing to play some better defense
Super Bowl odds favorite
Bills (+500)
I was surprised to see the Bills' Super Bowl odds shorten following a victory over the Jets. They're a massive betting favorite against the Miami Dolphins by the Thursday Night Football odds, but I don't think simply taking care of business should impact the odds any further at this point early in the season.
My Super Bowl prediction & best bet
Packers (+650)
I'm bullish on the Packers and was before the trade for Micah Parsons and Week 1 victory over the Lions. QB Jordan Love is my favorite contender in the NFL MVP odds, and I believe this is one of the more well-rounded teams in the NFL.
A 2-0 start with victories over the Lions and Commanders - both trendy preseason Super Bowl predictions - makes for the best early resume in the league among the Super Bowl favorites.

Super Bowl betting guide
Betting into the Super Bowl market is one of the most popular but challenging things to do successfully as a sports bettor. You have to carefully consider a mix between a team's viability in the regular season and its aptitude for the postseason.
Most people bet on the Super Bowl once the matchup is announced, which narrows the options available to two teams and reduces your risk when betting either one. Both the Chiefs and Eagles featured better than a 45% implied probability entering the Super Bowl, and a bet on either would have returned a fairly similar profit for the winner.
That said, the best time to get the most return on your Super Bowl bets is before the season, when teams are regularly priced from +500 (bet $10 to win $50) all the way to +35000 (bet $10 to win $3,500) or even longer. Clearly, teams with those potential returns don't tend to fare well in the regular season, hence the long odds to win it all.
First, you need to consider a team's ability to make the playoffs, which feature seven teams in each conference with a first-round bye for the No. 1 seed. That last part is key - the top seed in each conference routinely reaches (and wins) the Super Bowl, so betting on an elite regular-season team is a solid way to succeed in this market.
That said, a team's postseason success tends to be highly correlated to quarterback play, coaching, and elite defense. That's been the formula for decades, and while a top-flight defense is perhaps the least important of those three, there are only so many franchise quarterbacks and championship-level coaches around.
That's why the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, won two straight Super Bowls and three of the last six championship games. It's also why most Super Bowl winners tend to enter the season with odds shorter than +1000, as the teams with those key elements in place are the ones you can expect to survive through February.
How to read Super Bowl odds
A crucial step to betting on the Super Bowl is understanding how the odds work. Put simply, American odds represent how much money you would win on a $100 wager - or, in some cases, how much money you would need to wager to return $100.
Let's refer to an example. The Chiefs opened with +500 odds to win the 2025 Super Bowl. That means a $100 bet at those odds would return $500 in profit, or a $10 bet would return $50 in profit. You could have even bet $1 for a $5 return if Kansas City won its third consecutive championship.
Meanwhile, the Eagles opened with +1400 odds, and a $100 bet before the season would have paid $1,400 after they won it all. Those odds carried an implied probability of 6.67%, according to our odds converter. Compare that to their +100 moneyline odds entering the Super Bowl, which would have turned a $100 bet into a $100 profit with a 50% implied probability.
When we get close to the Big Game, you'll see one team dealing at "negative" odds. For example, the Chiefs opened as -125 favorites to win Super Bowl 59 after the matchup was announced, meaning you would have needed to bet $125 to win $100, or $12.50 to win $10. That's much shorter than the +500 odds they featured before the season.
You'll want to be careful staking too much on bets with minus odds, as what can seem like a "sure thing" is always vulnerable to the chaos and unpredictability of sports.
