The New England Patriots face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football to end the NFL's Week 14, and they're in desperate need of a win. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are essentially playing for pride at this point. Read on for our Patriots-Cardinals NFL pick based on the top odds.

New England entered Week 14 as one of two 6-6 AFC teams that sit one game out of a playoff spot. The Patriots look to avoid a season-high third straight loss after back-to-back defeats to two nine-plus-win teams (Vikings and Bills). FiveThirtyEight gives New England a 25% chance to make the playoffs.

Arizona's playoff hopes are all but dead as it sits at 4-8. The Cardinals are coming off a much-needed bye week after consecutive losses and four in their last five games. In addition, Arizona is just 1-10 straight-up in its last 11 games at State Farm Stadium.

Here is our best NFL pick for the Week 14 matchup between the Patriots and Cardinals (odds via PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Patriots vs. Cardinals Pick

Over 43.5 ★★★

Bill Belichick's teams are highly profitable to the Under when playing on the road, cashing in 36 of their previous 58 road games (62.1%) dating back to 2016. However, we are bucking that trend as New England's offense is in a great buy-low spot coming off a divisional game.

The Patriots have been held to an NFL-worst 12.3 points per game in divisional contests this season but have averaged 25 points in eight non-divisional games. New England has also made seven consecutive red-zone trips without scoring a touchdown, the longest streak under Belichick. However, that problem should be mitigated against a Cardinals defense that ranks dead last in allowing opponents to score touchdowns on 68.9% of their red-zone opportunities.

Conversely, the last time New England played in a dome, its defense allowed Kirk Cousins an 85 Total QBR, an 81% completion percentage, and three passing touchdowns (all season highs). The Cardinals have averaged 25 points over the previous six games, with Colt McCoy starting in two of them.

The Over has cashed in each of Arizona's previous six games, and we expect it to happen for a seventh straight time on Monday night.
