It’s only Week 2, but the urgency is already setting in for playoff hopefuls who started the season on the wrong foot.

There should be no hungrier team this week than the Cincinnati Bengals, who were among the Super Bowl odds favorites before opening their campaign with an ugly 16-10 home loss to the New England Patriots.

The Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets also hit the road, eager to avoid 0-2 starts, which would be damaging to their postseason chances.

I’m looking to cash in on these teams’ highly motivated states in Week 2, backing the Bengals, Rams and Jets on my Week 2 NFL parlay picks.

New York Jets ML (-170) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Monday’s season-opening 32-19 loss at San Francisco already has New York fans muttering “Same Old Jets,” but let’s cut Aaron Rodgers and Gang Green some slack.

It was Rodgers’ first game in a year, and the defense did manage to hold the 49ers’ potent offense to a pair of touchdowns. (San Fran’s other points came on six field goals, four from 40-plus yards.)

A matchup with the rebuilding Titans looks like the perfect tonic for New York to get back on track.

Tennessee quarterback Will Levis showed last week how he’ll panic under pressure, throwing an awful pick-six that decided the game — one of three turnovers he committed in the fourth quarter.

Expect the Jets’ defense to make a statement and for Rodgers to do enough for a New York victory.

DraftKings offered the most favorable price for Jets backers, listing New York’s moneyline at -170 while other books were charging -180 or higher.

  • Matchup: Jets vs. Titans
  • When: Sunday, Sept. 15, 1 p.m. ET
  • Where: Nissan Stadium (Nashville, Tenn.)
  • Favorite: Jets (-170 via DraftKings)

Los Angeles Rams ML (-102) ⭐⭐⭐

The Rams have already been decimated by injuries, losing star receiver Puka Nacua to a knee injury and down several top offensive linemen.

But they overcame many of those same injuries last week, taking the Detroit Lions into overtime on the road, so I’m not willing to buy the idea that the Rams should be an underdog in Arizona.

After starting fast last week in Buffalo, the Cardinals gained just 80 yards in the second half and squandered a two-touchdown lead in a 34-28 loss.

Kyler Murray has yet to build any chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr., connecting with the highly-touted rookie receiver just once.

Arizona may have the weakest home-field advantage in the entire NFL, losing 18 of its last 21 at State Farm Stadium. Essentially getting even money on the Cards’ home struggles to continue is a bargain.

  • Matchup: Rams vs. Cardinals
  • When: Sunday, Sept. 15, 4:05 p.m. ET
  • Where: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Ariz.)
  • Favorite: Cardinals (-118 via DraftKings)

Cincinnati Bengals +7.5 (-174) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

But we’ve seen Joe Burrow and the Bengals start the season on the wrong foot before, and they tend to right the ship.

I expect them to do that in a circle-the-wagons spot at Arrowhead, where Burrow has thrived so much in his young career that Bengals players started referring to the stadium as “Burrowhead.”

Cincy has won three of four meetings with the Chiefs with Burrow under centre, with the loss coming by just three points in the playoffs. (Jake Browning started in the Bengals’ loss to KC last year).

Kansas City was inches away from possibly losing its home opener to the Ravens last Thursday, holding on for its seventh one-score victory in the last eight games.

Despite Tee Higgins not being available and murmurs about the health of Burrow's wrist, I'm backing the Bengals to cover.

Backing the Bengals on the alternate spread comes with -174 juice (63.5% implied probability), but I think it’s more than worth it in a game that should stay relatively close.

  • Matchup: Bengals vs. Chiefs
  • When: Sunday, Sept. 15, 4:25 p.m. ET
  • Where: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, Mo.)
  • Favorite: Chiefs (-218 via DraftKings)
