Anytime Touchdown Scorer Predictions Week 2: Picks & Odds for Sunday Night Football
Sunday features another loaded NFL slate, meaning there's a full array of touchdown scorers available to bet on across our NFL prop betting sites.
Our anytime touchdown scorer predictions are minus-1.8 units for the 2024-25 NFL season after cashing on Buffalo Bills running back James Cook (+170) Thursday night. We've hit our last two picks in this weekly column after a sluggish start to the new season.
We're seeing the anytime touchdown scorer odds rise across our best NFL betting sites during the second week of the season. Odds were suppressed in Week 1, but a shockingly low-scoring week has helped raise the profit potential in this market.
Anytime touchdown scorer prediction for Sunday Night Football
Bears vs. Texans anytime touchdown scorer prediction: D.J. Moore, WR, CHI ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +200 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 33.33%
Moore was targeted eight times and recorded team highs with five receptions and 36 of QB Caleb Williams' 93 yards against the Tennessee Titans last week. I now like him in a Sunday Night Football matchup against a Houston Texas defense that was exploited by Anthony Richardson's deep throws last week.
The Texans gave up touchdown passes of 60 and 54 yards to the Indianapolis Colts as Richardson threw for 212 yards on just nine completions.
Moore will have the chance to follow suit of Alec Pierce and Ashton Dulin as the big-play threat in Chicago's passing offense. Slot receiver Keenan Allen is expected to be a game-time decision, as is rookie Rome Odunze (knee).
A winning $10 bet returns a profit of $20 to cap your NFL Sunday.
Anytime touchdown scorer predictions Week 2: Sunday
Giants vs. Commanders anytime touchdown scorer prediction: Jayden Daniels, QB, WAS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +130 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 43.48%
It's shocking to me that we can still find Daniels with plus-money odds to get into the end zone. However, via our NFL player prop odds tool, we're finding just that.
BetMGM's +130 odds are the best price in the anytime touchdown market. Competing books have odds as low as +100.
Daniels, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, had 16 rushing attempts totaling 88 yards in his NFL debut. He scored two touchdowns in a 37-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That suggests his rushing stats will be immune to negative game scripts this season. And he may not even face a negative game script this week.
The Commanders are 1.5-point home favorites against the New York Giants. Giants QB Daniel Jones threw two interceptions last week, and should allow Washington to spend most of the game in positive field position.
A winning $10 bet placed through our BetMGM bonus code "SBRBONUS" would return a $13 profit.
Bengals vs. Chiefs anytime touchdown scorer prediction: Mike Gesicki, TE, CIN ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +340 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 22.73%
I'm counting on Gesicki to exploit the same positional mismatch against the Kansas City Chiefs that allowed Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely to total 111 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets last week.
Gesicki certainly won't see that target share on Sunday. However, he caught three of four targets while playing 35% of the snaps last week. The one red-zone target he saw was overturned as a touchdown call on the field.
The Bengals will likely remain without the services of wide receiver Tee Higgins in Week 2. That absence would help Gesicki stay involved in QB Joe Burrow's progressions.
A winning $10 bet at FanDuel's +340 odds would result in a $34 profit. Several other of our NFL prop betting sites have the same bet listed at +300, implying a 25% win probability.
Anytime touchdown scorer predictions Week 2: Thursday Night Football
Bills anytime touchdown scorer prediction: James Cook, RB ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅
Best odds: +170 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 37.04%
The Jacksonville Jaguars carved up the Dolphins for 117 yards and a touchdown on 24 rushing attempts in Week 1.
After James Cook racked up 103 yards from scrimmage on 22 touches against the Arizona Cardinals last week, I'm looking for him to follow in the (literal) footsteps of Jaguars running back Travis Etienne - minus the costly fumble.
Cook was quiet in two games against the rival Dolphins last year, but he did score a touchdown in the first meeting. The third-year starter maintained a 61% snap share in the Bills' backfield last week, and his 19 attempts were more than he logged in all but two games during the 2023 season.
Dolphins anytime touchdown scorer prediction: Jonnu Smith, TE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✖️
Best odds: +450 via Caesars | Implied probability: 18.18%
New users only. Must use promo code. Min. $10 deposit. Max. additional winnings $2.5K per token. Tokens expire in 14 days. Void where prohibited. Full terms.
The Dolphins' tight end group didn't do much to inspire confidence last week. Julian Hill led a quartet with a 59% snap share, and Jonnu Smith played just 28% of the offensive snaps.
But the Bills held Cardinals receivers - including rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. - in check for much of their game. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will test that secondary, but I expect QB Tua Tagovailoa to find his big, veteran tight end when needed.
A winning $10 bet on Smith to score Thursday night would return a $450 profit at +450 odds via our Caesars promo code: SBRBONUSDYW.
