Both of these teams have scored plenty of goals during the Olympics, but facing off is the true test. Let's dive in with our USA-Canada picks.

There are two powerhouses in Women’s Hockey: the USA and Canada. The juggernauts square off for the first time at the 2022 Winter Olympics on Monday. Both teams are undefeated, but there have been some slight differences in the results.

The USA has outscored its opponents 18-2 over three games. Meanwhile, Canada has outscored the same foes 29-3.

These two squads met up late in 2021 during the Rivalry Series to prepare for the Olympics. It was meant to be a nine-game series, but only six contests were played due to COVID-19. Canada won four times (twice in overtime).

Here are my USA-Canada picks and predictions for Monday’s Olympic Women’s hockey matchup (pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Canada at -150 (-1.5 at +195 on the puck line) and the USA at +125 (+1.5 at -240 on the puck line).

The total is set at five, with the Under heavily favored at -150 and the Over at +130. Some sportsbooks have set the total at 4.5 instead.

Team Canada has looked unstoppable at the Olympics. The Canadians beat Switzerland 12-1 to open the tournament before knocking off Finland 11-1, and defeating the ROC 6-1 on Sunday night while playing with masks on due to testing issues. The masks surely slowed down the team's offense, and Canada likely would’ve put up close to double digits again had it been a normal game.

Team USA has beaten those three opponents too, but the Americans didn't register similar blowouts. They opened with a 5-2 victory over Finland before logging shutouts over the ROC (5-0) and Switzerland (8-0).

Canada won gold at the 2021 IIHF Women’s World Championship after defeating the USA 5-1 in the preliminary stage and 3-2 in overtime during the gold medal game.

The USA is also without Brianna Decker due to injury, and any missing piece is huge between these teams. Canada has had the USA's number and should be able to get the job done.

Under 5 (-150)

All six Rivalry Series games featured five goals or fewer. There were also five goals during the gold medal game at the worlds. These teams play each other really tough while limiting chances.

Take the Under 5. You could also sprinkle something on a 3-2 correct score bet (+650), or the game going to overtime (+295).
