Blue Jays vs. Red Sox Prediction, Odds & Best Bets Today, 8-26

The Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox play a split doubleheader on Monday as they finish the suspended game from June 26 this afternoon.
The opener is a historic affair when former Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen suits up for the Red Sox and becomes the first player in MLB history to play for both teams in the same game.
But these Blue Jays vs. Red Sox predictions are for the second game, with first pitch from Fenway Park scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
The Blue Jays might be in last place in the AL East, but they are just five games behind the Red Sox after winning four straight games while their rivals have lost three straight. Boston’s wild-card chances took a big hit over the weekend, falling 4.5 games behind the last playoff spot.
The Red Sox are still -165 moneyline favorites at Betway for the second game and have won four of the five head-to-head meetings with the Blue Jays this season.

Blue Jays ML (+135) ⭐⭐⭐
The Red Sox ran into the buzzsaw that was the Arizona Diamondbacks over the weekend, a team that is 34-13 in their last 47 games and one that outscored them 23-8 in the weekend series.
Fenway Park has not been an overly intimidating place to play all season. Boston is 29-35 at home, and things will not get easier when facing a Blue Jays team that is 24-19 since July 6, which is just three percentage points worse than the Yankees for the best record in the AL East in that span.
However, this is only a three-star play because Jays starter Jose Berrios has a 5.54 ERA in seven career starts at Fenway Park. However, the Blue Jays are 3-0 in Berrios' last three starts overall with a +16 run differential and should be able to score plenty off Nick Pivetta, who has allowed multiple home runs in five consecutive outings.
Should Toronto win, a $10 wager returns $13.50 in profits.

Blue Jays vs. Red Sox best bets
MLB picks made Monday at 7:17 a.m. ET.
Prediction: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐
Guerrero Jr. has homered in two of his last nine games, but Betway’s +425 odds for him to go deep are still an insane value for a player who is batting .413 since the All-Star Break (third-highest) and whose 1.354 OPS is only behind Aaron Judge in that span. Pivetta has allowed exactly two home runs in each of his previous five starts, and Guerrero has taken him deep three times in 34 at-bats, so these +425 odds are worth more than a flier.
At Betway, I could combine this prop with my game pick for +800 odds that Guerrero will both homer and that the Blue Jays will win, but I would only have done this if I was getting worse than +400 odds for the Guerrero home run prop.
Should Guerrero hit his 28th home run of the season, a winning $10 wager would pay $52.50 for a profit of $42.50.
Best odds: +425 via Betway | Implied probability: 19.05%
Prediction: Jarren Duran Over 2.5 hits + runs + RBIs ⭐⭐⭐
Duran’s Over on 1.5 total bases, 0.5 runs scored, and 0.5 singles are all juiced to -125. But considering the Red Sox leadoff hitter is 4-for-11 with two home runs and three RBIs against Berrios, it is worth a shot at +110 odds to back this Over.
This is a three-star play, as the Red Sox should put traffic on the basepaths, considering Berrios’ 1.718 WHIP at Fenway is his second-worst at any ballpark where he has made at least two starts. Duran has cashed this Over in two of the previous six games, so this is worth a $10 wager for the chance at a $21 payout and $11 profit.
Best odds: +110 via Betway | Implied probability: 47.62%
