Wednesday’s 15-game MLB slate offers some outstanding opportunities to cash in on some home run predictions today, starting with Colson Montgomery, who is one of the top sluggers on a Chicago White Sox team that is among the league leaders in home runs.
Adding to my MLB home run picks are three sluggers who have been red-hot for extended periods of time recently, from Ronald Acuna Jr.,to Junior Caminero, and finally Gunnar Henderson.

💣 Best home run prediction today
Junior Caminero to hit a home run (+351)
Junior Caminero entered the week batting .325 with a .980 OPS over his previous 20 games. Those numbers were a marked improvement from his .252 batting average and .816 OPS over the first 36.
Like nearly all Rays hitters, Caminero is getting his first look at Tigers youngster Troy Melton. Melton has been impressive in allowing just two earned runs over 12 2/3 innings since making his season debut. But the righty also owns a low career 17.4% career strikeout rate, and Caminero is a great bet to be the first to take him deep this year.
📡 SBR Edge: Acuna Jr. in rare company
Ronald Acuna Jr. is one of three players (Alfonso Soriano and Eric Davis are the others) with 175-plus home runs and at least 175 stolen bases through their first 863 career games.
🔥 More home run picks today
Colson Montgomery to hit a home run (+370)
Colson Montgomery has two hits in a small five at-bat sample size against Taj Bradley, but both of those were home runs.
Montgomery is a key cog in a power-packed White Sox lineup that tied for the MLB lead in home runs in May. And those Chicago sluggers should be eager to face a Twins pitching staff that entered the week pitching to a 9.60 ERA over a five-game losing streak, while allowing two or more home runs in four of those five games.
One of those losses and poor starts came in Taj Bradley’s last outing, when he and a reliever combined to allow home runs to two of Pittsburgh’s most feared left-handed bats (Bryan Reynolds and Oneil Cruz).
Gunnar Henderson to hit a home run (+590)
Gunnar Henderson not only leads all Orioles hitters with 13 home runs, but his six home runs against left-handed pitching are also a team-high.
Henderson’s hot bat is a big reason Baltimore entered yesterday’s series opener having won seven of its last 10 games. As a team in that span, the Orioles batted .268 with a .790 OPS en route to 60 runs scored.
Red Sox southpaw Payton Tolle has reverse splits with being devastatingly tough on right-handed batters, but owning a worse number in every slash line category against lefties. As such, two of his three homers allowed on the year have been against left-handed batters, in 66 fewer at-bats. Let’s ride Henderson’s career-high launch angle to cash another home run wager.
Ronald Acuna Jr. to hit a home run (+496)
Ronald Acuna Jr. splits this season are eye-popping. Over the first 40 games, he had just two home runs and 11 RBI. But over the previous six games entering this week, he had belted five homers with 10 RBI.
Since the start of 2023 (min. 900 PA), Acuna ranks fourth in batting average, third in on-base percentage, sixth in slugging, fifth in OPS+, fifth in xwOBA, and eighth in hard-hit percentage.
Against non-fastballs since the start of 2023 (min. 400 PA), Acuna Jr. ranks second in batting average and third in slugging. He has homered just once in 34 career at-bats against Patrick Corbin, but his overall .324 batting average in that split bodes well for his chances of success today.
🚀 Best home run parlay picks today
Colson Montgomery and Ronald Acuna Jr. have had success, specifically when hitting for power, against their current starting pitchers. But both Junior Caminero and Gunnar Henderson are facing today's opposing starting pitcher for the first time, and that added value to this four-leg home run parlay because it tempered their odd to go yard.
💵 Best MLB home run parlay today
- Junior Caminero to hit a home run (+351)
- Colson Montgomery to hit a home run (+353)
- Gunnar Henderson to hit a home run (+588)
- Ronald Acuna Jr. to hit a home run (+496)
Best odds: +83674 via DraftKings (0.1u -> 83.7u)

💡 How I'm betting MLB home run picks today
Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.
It was easy to identify Montgomery as one of my MLB home run picks today, as he was one of the rare sluggers who had gone yard twice in a small sample size of at-bats against today's opposing starting pitcher. But I also made sure to balance that prior history with elite home run sluggers who haven't yet faced today's starter, as the odds for Caminero and Henderson to hit home runs potentially return a bigger payout because of that unfamiliarity.
