Several rubber matches play out on Sunday as another exciting week of Major League Baseball continues. Read on for our top MLB prop picks and best bets for Sunday based on the top MLB odds from our best sports betting sites.

The Texas Rangers made history with their 12-2 rout of the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night, improving to the 11th-best run differential of any team through the first 50 games of a season since 1900, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com. That plus-122 run differential was also the second-best of any team this century, following the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs and their plus-128. We'll look to ride the hitting streak of a hot Rangers hitter on Sunday.

Here are our top MLB prop picks and best bets for Sunday (odds via DraftKings, Caesars, and FanDuel; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Sunday’s MLB prop picks

Player prop: Alex Cobb to earn a win vs. Brewers (+135 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

The San Francisco Giants lost five of seven games to the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks May 8-14. They've won four consecutive series since then, including the last two against teams atop their respective divisions (the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers).

Before Logan Webb’s start on Saturday, he and Alex Cobb combined for a 1.38 ERA across 32 2/3 innings in May. Cobb has been especially impressive while going 4-0 with a 1.85 ERA during his last seven starts. He boasts a slightly better WHIP during road games (1.29) than in home outings (1.33). And he now faces a slumping Brewers lineup that ranks 27th in wRC+ in May, largely thanks to their 28th-ranked OBP (.292).

This is a three-star play, as we expect the Giants to jump on Colin Rea early, who holds an ERA north of 5.00 in home games and the second-worst K/9 (7.18) and FIP (5.24) of all Brewers pitchers (minimum 30 innings pitched). A bullpen that entered yesterday with a 0.88 ERA in its last 51 1/3 innings supports Cobb.

Making this wager at DraftKings provides $12 more in potential profit, as Caesars offers +123 odds for the same prop.

Player prop: Tim Anderson Under 1.5 hits vs. Tigers (-178 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐

This is shaping up to be a season to forget for Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, as he's following up back-to-back All-Star campaigns with his lowest batting average (.257) and on-base percentage (.296) since 2018.

Anderson now faces Detroit Tigers southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez, and the infielder is 0-for-14 against him with seven strikeouts. The veteran is one of three White Sox regulars with a negative WAR rating (Elvis Andrus and Yasmani Grandal are the others).

This is a three-star play even though Anderson has hit safely in four of five games. He hasn't been successful against Rodriguez, who ranks in the top third of the league in expected batting average.

Player prop: Marcus Semien Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-160 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Rangers scored 10-plus runs 13 times in their first 50 games, tying the second-most such contests during the World Series era (one behind the 2000 Colorado Rockies’ 14). The team is undefeated when reaching double digits in 2023. Texas scored 10-plus runs just 10 times during the 2022 season, and its 6.4 runs per game entering Saturday were the most in the league.

Marcus Semien has been a driving force behind the Rangers' offensive success. Semien has produced an active 16-game hitting streak while reaching base safely in 22 of 23 games during May, slashing .333/.396/.525 in that span.

This is a confident four-star play, as Semien figures to hold the edge against Orioles starter Kyle Bradish, who ranks in the 14th percentile or worse in hard-hit percentage and average exit velocity.

Sunday’s MLB game picks

Alternate Runline: Astros -2.5 vs. Athletics (+102 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

The Oakland Athletics have already set the record for the most losses in MLB history prior to June 1, as their 44 defeats are more than the 41 losses the 2013 Miami Marlins and 1996 Detroit Tigers recorded. And there are still four more games left in May for Oakland.

Oakland has suffered a three-plus run defeat in 29 of its 44 games, including 14 of 22 such losses against divisional opponents. Meanwhile, the Houston Astros are 13-3 in their last 16 games since a three-game skid May 6-8. They're finally healthy too, with sparkplug Jose Altuve back for nearly a week.

Astros starter Cristian Javier shouldn't struggle to navigate an A’s lineup that's scored two or fewer runs in eight of its last nine games. The team's stretch of eight straight outings was the second-longest such streak since 1979.

FanDuel and DraftKings are two of our few best live betting sites offering plus-money odds for the alternate run line. But DraftKings is slightly lower at +100 odds.
