The San Francisco Giants lost five of seven games to the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks May 8-14. They've won four consecutive series since then, including the last two against teams atop their respective divisions (the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers).
Before Logan Webb’s start on Saturday, he and Alex Cobb combined for a 1.38 ERA across 32 2/3 innings in May. Cobb has been especially impressive while going 4-0 with a 1.85 ERA during his last seven starts. He boasts a slightly better WHIP during road games (1.29) than in home outings (1.33). And he now faces a slumping Brewers lineup that ranks 27th in wRC+ in May, largely thanks to their 28th-ranked OBP (.292).

This is a three-star play, as we expect the Giants to jump on Colin Rea early, who holds an ERA north of 5.00 in home games and the second-worst K/9 (7.18) and FIP (5.24) of all Brewers pitchers (minimum 30 innings pitched). A bullpen that entered yesterday with a 0.88 ERA in its last 51 1/3 innings supports Cobb.

Player prop: Tim Anderson Under 1.5 hits vs. Tigers (-178 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐
This is shaping up to be a season to forget for Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, as he's following up back-to-back All-Star campaigns with his lowest batting average (.257) and on-base percentage (.296) since 2018.
Anderson now faces Detroit Tigers southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez, and the infielder is 0-for-14 against him with seven strikeouts. The veteran is one of three White Sox regulars with a negative WAR rating (Elvis Andrus and Yasmani Grandal are the others).

The Rangers scored 10-plus runs 13 times in their first 50 games, tying the second-most such contests during the World Series era (one behind the 2000 Colorado Rockies’ 14). The team is undefeated when reaching double digits in 2023. Texas scored 10-plus runs just 10 times during the 2022 season, and its 6.4 runs per game entering Saturday were the most in the league.

Marcus Semien has been a driving force behind the Rangers' offensive success. Semien has produced an active 16-game hitting streak while reaching base safely in 22 of 23 games during May, slashing .333/.396/.525 in that span.
This is a confident four-star play, as Semien figures to hold the edge against Orioles starter Kyle Bradish, who ranks in the 14th percentile or worse in hard-hit percentage and average exit velocity.
