The Ohio State Buckeyes will look to avenge a one-point loss from earlier this season against the Oregon Ducks. Kickoff in the College Football Playoff Rose Bowl is set for 5 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Pasadena, Calif.

Ohio State moneyline (-142) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When these two teams met in October, the game was played in Eugene, Ore. The Buckeyes went toe-to-toe with the Ducks despite playing in a true road game, and they held the lead with just 1:47 remaining.

While the New Year's Day game will be played closer to Oregon’s campus, I think the neutral location will play a big factor in the Buckeyes’ success. The Ducks have steamrolled everyone in their path, but their last two games away from home were both one-possession games, and one of those contests was a 16-13 win over the Wisconsin Badgers.

Even though it would have been nice to get the Buckeyes as underdogs, this is a solid price for them, especially when adding it to a parlay. Ohio State's top-ranked pass defense will perform much better against Dillon Gabriel in this game, holding him under 300 yards this time.

Will Howard 250+ passing yards (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first time these two met, Howard threw for a season-high 326 yards. While that performance is likely to have bettors feeling very confident in him, I’d advise caution. Howard takes on the ninth-best pass defense in the country in a game that is likely to be lower scoring than before.

That said, Howard looked incredible against the Tennessee Volunteers last week. He threw for 311 yards and completed all but five passes against a defense allowing fewer than 200 passing yards per game. He's also topped 250 yards in five games this season, finishing within 10 yards of this mark in two more.

Howard's already proven himself against this defense, so I’ll take the average price for a number 76 yards lower than his first game.

Tez Johnson anytime touchdown scorer (+100) ⭐⭐⭐

Though the Buckeyes have the country’s top-ranked pass defense, they couldn’t shut down Johnson in the first matchup. Johnson didn’t end the game as the team’s leading receiver, but he still caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.

The senior ended the year with 10 touchdowns, only failing to score in three games. He has caught a touchdown pass in seven of his last eight games, and the only time he didn’t score, he got injured mid-game.

Jordan James is the favorite to score for the Ducks, but the price is simply too high. After that, the next four players that DraftKings thinks are most likely to score are Buckeyes. While this game total is unlikely to get into the 60s as the first meeting did, Johnson is undervalued here at even money for something he’s done in almost every game.
