Stockton threw for 71 yards in one half against the second-best pass defense in football. Unfortunately for him, this game is against the third-ranked pass defense in the country, and the Fighting Irish are going to have tape on him to prepare for the game.
Against the Longhorns, Stockton averaged just 4.4 yards per attempt. The Fighting Irish rank third in the country, allowing an average of just 5.6 yards per attempt. Additionally, they’re allowing just 162.3 passing yards per game.
We did see Stockton in two other games this season. Against Tennessee Tech, he completed 10 passes for 90 yards. While he’s completed at least 75% of his passes in all three games, he doesn’t pick up a lot of yards on his attempts.
