I"m already counting that DEUCE as mostly dead - it is Chela still, but ..... Almagro is shanking shots and just not looking good at all. Should have just played Raonic by himself. -170 or so wasn't bad at all for this match-up. Doing about what I thought, got the one break and now he should be able to close the set out 6-4. Troicki holding in there. Feel like he needs this set worse than Cilic.

Glad troicki was able to come back. I don't think he would have survived the tiebreaker.

EP, I see that Del Potro is playing doubles in San Jose with Querrey(weird pairing) tonight, and the match is scheduled about 2-3 hours after Del's singles match would finish. They are playing Knowles and Mertinak..29th ranked..And they are -145 at 5 dimes..Would seem like a good play..Querrey is good at doubles but Del Pot must not play much,,

I'm passing on most doubles unless it's a glaring match-up. There's been some odd results early this year and since the Australian Open, a lot of mish-mash teams that are hard to judge. I looked at DelPo-Querrey earlier in the week and thought about going against them and they won fairly easily. No play for me there.

I think Dolgopolov will win. He's the better talent. Said it yesterday, Mello is a bit of an aberration winning these matches because he is not really a clay court guy. Price hasn't gone really haywire after it dropped 30 cents or so earlier in the day, market corrected itself and Dolgo is a firm favorite. I'm not playing it because I still am a bit iffy on the kid in these smaller tournaments, but we'll see.

Nice comeback from Dick Almagro after getting wasted in the 1st set, he gets Chela in 3. Raonic wins in straights. DEUCE home!

                        ATP SAN JOSE: HEWITT +145
Was looking for the right time to go against Del Potro this tournament and this is where I'll try first. DelPo hasn't been pushed hard yet, but Hewitt may be the type to make him earn a max effort win today. DelPo strolled through the 1st set against Lacko yesterday, but then struggled to put him away in the 2nd before winning a tie break. That's the kind of tennis I THINK you can expect from DelPo as he works his fitness level and game back to par. Hewitt in his own right had to rally from a set down to Dabul to win in 3 after dismissing Phau routinely in the 1st round. Hard to gauge who is better on this surface right now as Hewitt has a stellar record on indoor hard courts, but he rarely plays them at this stage of his career. Del Potro while maybe not at his best, did show pretty well on this surface during his breakout campaign in 2009. One thing did seem to show in those losses though in that guys who could get to his serve and put their racket on the ball and force DelPo to win points had a shot. Hewitt may not be the guy he was 3-4 years ago, but he remains an athletic player with a good return game. If he takes care of his serve and puts pressure on Del Potro to extend rallies and really work points, I THINK he rates a chance today.

I think +190 or so was where I saw him. Dolgo was -235 if I remember.

Hewitt pretty stiff on-serve when he's not getting that 1st one in. Horrible percentage on 2nd serves. DelPo's 1st serve is dominating, but there have been a couple break opps and he blew triple break point in the last game in the first set. Hewitt is going to have to find another gear of this one will be over in straights pretty easy.

Eh, would never go big on a WTA match ever really, but Clijsters probably. Kanepi is nursing a hamstring injury that Clijsters will probably be able to exploit.

                                                      ATP ROTTERDAM: LJUBICIC +176
A lot of disrespect by the oddsmakers for Ljubicic here. He's every bit as powerful as Tsonga on this surface and he showed some great grit against Baghdatis in the QFs. Tsonga gets the extra day of rest, but at this early stage of the season I'm not sure that it wouldn't be better for him to have played yesterday to keep his game tight. Looking at Tsonga's losses on this indoor surface over the past year or so, they aren't to top notch players. They are to guys who can hold their serve and nerve late in sets as Tsonga generally plays a lot of close sets. Ljubicic proved against Baghdatis to have the nerve and both his serve and groundies have been solid this week. I don't doubt that Tsonga rates the better player on any given day, but the disparity in the line here makes Ljubicic a nice pick who rates a real shot here if he keeps his error count low.

Would you rate it as a small play? I was thinking tsonga but wasn't sure.

I watched Ljubicic against Baggy. I am probably wrong but if not his serve he has nothing. He plays from back line and no agressive shots at all. He can win only on unforced errors of the opponent.

Well Ljubicic played tough, but lost in two tight ones. I'm miffed Monfils withdrew, I was ready to unload on Raonic today at any price. Sunnuva bitch.

I see Raonic is playing Karlovic in an exhibition match today ... 5Dimes offering Raonic at -140.

Money is going onto Del Potro over Verdasco, but I think Verdasco is playing better right now overall and he still hasn't lost a match on this court in two years now. Might think about that one and watch the money a little longer. Just don't think there is enough to judge DelPo on to justify making him a favorite in this match. Hewitt was brutal yesterday and this will be a big step-up in competition for him.

I'd rather stick my tongue in an outlet than figure out if Almagro or Dolgopolov is going to win in Brazil. O-U is set to where they think it's going to be a 3 setter. Will be interesting to see how much Dolgopolov has improved since last time they met on clay at the French when Almagro rolled him in straights.

Soderling-Troicki should be Soderling's to lose.

He was going into today thinking he would have to play, so this will be a lighter workout for him IMO. Verdasco-Karlovic was only 1:30 and that's about what I expect here in a two setter. I think as a younger player you're better served to going out and playing the match to win rather than resting yourself. To me at least, seems like you could fukk up your momentum and game more by not going 100%. If it was an older player, I could see a tank in the offering. I don't see that here. Plus on the other side - Karlovic certainly wasn't expecting to play today. Mentally, he might be checked out. I'd rather play Raonic personally. Not sure if I will, but I don't think he's tanking today.
