Only one set man, but looking good. I thought this one might go three. All he has to do is play tough until late in sets and the handicap looks like it has a shot.
Cilic-Troicki .... tough call. Cilic dominates the head-2-head in all the right places, but I don't know how much to read into his play this week because the Melzer match seemed a little fishy. Troicki has played well this year for the most part. Would probably watch to see where the money goes, but I *gulp* like Cilic in this spot as of right now.

Yeah no doubt. Didn't mean to jump the gun. Just wishing I put a little on the ML like I originally was gonna do. He looks good so far. Hopefully his game stays sold til the end and the +4 will cash.

Smyczek getting rolled in the 2nd set. Now he pretty much has to win or the handicap is fukked.

Massive break back there. He needs to win one more game here in this set to make me feel good about the 3rd.

We got this. Smyczek is gonna win straight up. ML price on Nishikori was insane for this match.

ATP COSTA DO SAUIPE: BELLUCCI -160 Bellucci is another one who seems to play that much better in his home country. 19-4 over the past two seasons. Chela is his opponent today. The crafty vet has survived two lengthy three set matches here to Kubot & Dutra Da Silva. Bellucci is the bigger hitter her and delivers more pop on-serve. Not always the biggest of factors on clay, but I THINK in this situation it can be. Chela could be somewhat fatigued here and the legs would be the first thing to go, meaning his somewhat questionable serve may be even more so today. For Bellucci, it's about maintaining a consistent level and not allowing himself to blow up mentally. Chela has won twice against him on dirt before, but both were two years ago or longer and have little bearing now with both players in much different shape and form. Bellucci is still prone to those knucklehead lapses where he'll drop a lopsided set for losing concentration, but I THINK the conditions and situation give him the best shot to win today.

EP what do you think about the line Bellucci -2.5 -115? I think he has a shot to cover. Can't see Chela playing that strong in the 3rd if this goes a while.

Yeah sucks cannot cap injuries into an equation. Like you guys wish he would have quite prior to the end of the 1st set. This is Chela though so who knows what will happen. Guy isn't always up and up.

No he finished it out, 6-1, 6-2. Trying to figure out if I want to fade Verdasco tonight or not, leaning towards Yes.

ATP SAN JOSE: KARLOVIC +175 Karlovic vs. Verdasco. On an outdoor court, I might rate Verdasco as the one to definitely take here, but on the controlled indoor surface - the one pump chump, Ivo Karlovic rates a shot in this one. Verdasco is barely above .500 on this surface and outside of last year's run here in San Jose, the Spaniard has not had a great time indoors in the last year. In looking at his losses on this surface since San Jose 2010, I see one very common denominator to start with and that is Verdasco's serve going south. So far this season, Verdasco's serve has been pretty sound, but it will be under more pressure today with Karlovic difficult to break. Karlovic for his part will hold some confidence here having faced Verdasco on a variety of surfaces and faring well against him. On indoor surfaces, Karlovic generally will do what we saw him do against Sweeting - hold serve, nail aces and put pressure on his opponent to be equally solid on their serve. Of course Karlovic isn't immune to the yips - but he's far less likely on this surface to have difficulties I THINK. Should tie breaks come into play, Karlovic is 5-3 in tie breaks this year & Verdasco is 2-1. Verdasco will need to escalate his performance here after playing a tired Rajeev Ram, here's hoping he's not up to the task.
