Sock played decent today, but can't see him beating Anderson the way he played today. Giraldo was a mess when it came down to it.

Anderson could have/ maybe should have lost today, but he played Chardy, so he won. Was down a break in the 3rd and shaky on serve several times in the final set, but of course Frenchie foo could not do anything and yacked up the break lead.

I think Sock has a legit shot to beat him. You really don't have to do anything special if you're either of these guys in order to beat the other. You serve well and when one guy fukks around for a game, you hope you're the one who gets the crucial break.

I don't think so. I think Sock is playing excellent tennis and serving at a high level this week. He's basically playing the same player that he beat yesterday in Anderson. He is a public play though which often turns to shit, hence the hedge.

Hedge now is +100 on Querrey and booked with 1.5 units risked to win 1.5.

I mean if I didn't have a future pending here, I would not play this match because I think it is as the line suggests, pretty much 50-50. I'd probably be looking at prop bets, like tie break YES @ -110 seems like a rather decent try with the way both have been serving this week.

Similar style players with similar weaponry. If there's the slightest of edges, might be to Querrey for the experience of having been in this position before. Sock is in his 1st ATP Final and usually no matter the skill level of a player, nerves will come into play at some point. I think thought they might be a little less at a 250 where we seem to get weird finals match-ups almost every tournament where nerves might not matter.

Neither is necessarily good. I'm only asking which you'd prefer, and I'll assume Queer given the slightly better line and superior experience.

Edit: Indeed, circumstance is a large part of why the odds on Queer are much too high, IMO. I was considering Queer 2-1 but I wouldn't want to miss out on the potential 2-0...

I think people bet too often on toss-up matches like this when the better option often is to look for something other than a side to wager on or skip it because there's not enough of an edge to feel comfortable with either side really. Everything is guess work, but these seem much larger guesses than others.

I understand you prefer neither, but considering your repeated talk of "toss up" I made the assumption Queer @ 2.05 would be the pick if you were forced to make a bet, especially taking into account the vast difference in experience. I suppose I am mistaken though, and you slightly favor Sock, even.

Also, I very much agree with that sentiment, but this is not one of those matches at all to me.

Shouldn't be too long before he's the #1 ranked American. He's still not top 10 material yet though. He still needs to work on his backhand. He doesn't have one. The rest of his game is pretty darn good. He has a lethal forehand.

This tournament and Belgrade are the only chance Americans have on clay. The rest of the clay season will be tough for Americans.
