I hate these clay tournaments in the states. A total crap shoot on who wants to play or can play on these rare courts. It's a joke. At least Gonzalez got it together.

Big difference between this court and a South American or Euro clay court. You can hit through this court much easier. Same with Charleston and to a lesser extent Houston.

Challengers in general are kin to WTA. Usually some shit serving & about anyone can beat anyone on a given day.

What's your opinion on Tiafoe? Is he a future top 10 phenom or the next Ryan Harrison?

I know he's only 18, but most of his matches are break fests. Seems his serve isn't that great by the stats.

Honestly have not seen enough of him to give an opinion. Very few guys in their teens are blessed with natural power to their games these days. I think he is 6'1" so maybe it will develop more for his serve. I hear his forehand is wicked already, but like most Americans probably lacking a good backhand.. Without a stout serve, you're going to get raped on the ATP tour obviously. That will come with practice I would think. Even Jack Sock had to work to get his serve ramped up & he's got a ton of power that just wasn't always harnessed properly in his early days. I compare the two because physically they are close in size, Sock has some bulk on him but the same height.

Nice. Yeah, I only mention him because I read somewhere he got signed by Jay Z's Rocofella Agent Company. I guess they are expecting big things from the kid.

He has talent, let see what happens when he gets some muscle in the next few years.

Elias is just not that good of a Tennis player, period. He's a career journeyman challenger IMO.

Elias is decent at this level on this surface though. Obviously with my WTA comparison yesterday - anyone can still lose any day at this level because yes, they all have deficiencies otherwise they'd be playing ATP all the time.

I hear you man. The challenger circuit is tricky. You have talented younger players trying to work their way up, but still raw. Older players that are still very capable, but past their prime. Players that are just not good enough or consistent enough for the ATP, but can play well for stretches.

Had Cilic ML on my list, but went "safer" with the total LoL. I'm a Putz when I slump.

Had in mybpreview that I thought Federer and Wawrinka would lose somewhere and the day I don't stick with that, they both lose.
