putting on lean muscle actually helps you burn fat faster. So lift and squat and do sit ups push ups and pull ups. all of the exercises that make you feel like you're going to die, Those are the ones that are the best for you. Don't sit over in the girls section using the machines. Hit the free weights and put on some lean muscle to assist you in burning off that fat. You don't have to lift the most weight, just use proper form and do high reps.

Type A personalities often die of heart related fatalities so you could possibly just meet him there?

Condescending remarks really don't motivate people in the long run. In fact Creature's probably endured many insults over the course of his life and they have not changed him for the better. My impression is that the public accountability coupled with points awards found in this thread is only a short term solution. Without identifying and dealing with the factors that caused the weight gain in the first place whatever weight you lose in the short term will put put back on in the future probably due to your admitted depression/substance abuse.

As I recommended before visiting a psychiatrist to see if you have an actual chemical imbalance is the right course of action. If at that point there is nothing physiologically wrong with you, therapy would be undertaken. Don't underestimate the benefit of dealing with mental heath issues. And ignore the idiots who continue to stigmatize the various conditions.

That being said I would suggest to continue what you're doing and when you inevitably fall off the wagon minimize the damage and continue with the plan after the slip. Whatever you do don't quit.
As for the meal video the turkey is processed and high in salt. You may want to substitute lean meat in the sandwich, preferably grilled without a fat source or at worst olive oil. Also I wouldn't eat the lunch in one sitting and would consume it over the course of an afternoon.

            Good Luck.

Interesting thread as i took time to read the whole thing. I was torn at first when you asked for money to lose weight and dared any who criticized...really?? on sbr?? and as i read on it became a good story of positive influence and motivation. but as guys tried to give every plan possible and words of encouragement, there was a time you still stated there just aren't enough 'bets' involved to keep you going. and the majority of these offers aren't bets because in most cases except one, you aren't offering anything up if you lose.
Like it has been stated, use the dual motivation of the rewards and the personal satisfaction of being able to move around smoothly and without feeling as if you are lugging a small animal around with you. This has to be a lifestyle change. i have been 20 lbs overweight most of my life since i graduated high school. but i have never in all of those years motivated myself to lose that measly 20 lbs. you have the initial motivation of the points, cash, etc. Now parlay that with the personal motivation to continue your journey into feeling better physically, which will correlate with your emotional feelings as well. Hell, maybe you can even motivate me to finally lose this 20 ...gl to you.
and to the guy offering 2k for him to lose weight by mar 2012, i think it would be awesome to give him 1k and make a charitable donation in his name with the other 1k to help needy children somewhere. just my .02

                        Market-

Fukk that. We're trying to get some fat off the kid.....not going to lie and tell him he looks good in a thong bikini so he doesn't get his feelings hurt.

Creature knows how I feel about him. I'm not going to rub his head and tell him its okay when he's pushing 3 bills. Its not. I refuse to idly stand-by and let this kid go thru life as a clueless fat fukk. This is the way I think I can provide Creature with the most help. This is what I do.

Now....Creature, get your ass in the gym. One more g*ddam drama-filled, tear jerking, emotion filled video of you that doesn't include substantial weight loss.....and fitting into those size 46 jeans will be the least of your problems.

                        Hit the gym, pal.

Market- what makes you think I'm a Type A personality??

I was simply stating that negative remarks like clueless fat fukk really do nothing to motivate someone. What good is it to offer support on one hand but by doing so you insult them at the same time? Do you really think that by being negative you're going to push him towards his goal? Negativity was obviously a contributing factor leading up to his current state so do you really think that by continuing with the practice you would actually aid with his weight loss? Why not just offer the support instead. I can see that you honestly do care but maybe your way is not optimal?

Hypothetically what would be the best course of influential action to take if you wanted your wife to stop smoking?
A)I'm worried about your health and want to be with your for a long time because I love you.
B)Hey you yellow tooth, bad breath, cancer sack why don't you stop smoking? I'm worried about your health as well and want to be with you for a long time because i love you.

That is essential what you're doing with Creature.

As for being Type A my characterization of you was based on occupation(owner operator), 2-3 of the videos you posted, your attitude on the forums looking to influence/lead, and general sovereign personal philosophy. I could be wrong but if I was accurate you really should monitor your health closely (you may already be doing so). I've had family members who fit this profile and all of them have heart problems. That is of course the downside of the attitude which is a particularly successful personality practice as far as business is concerned.

Most people die of heart related complications so its really no surprise. And we all die of something eventually so dying a heart related death is no different than most other deaths and actually more preferable than some. Its a useless stat.

In my opinion Creature's problem is the same as my son's. Once his mother releases her apron strings and lets him alone/go, he will become a man. My son is almost 30 now with his mother wiping his ass daily. Creature's mom is a very good cook and with him living at home doesn't help.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I went over to my friend's house who is turning 21 at midnight. I hung out for 2 hours and didn't have a single drop of liquid that wasn't 100% H2O. I'm extremely proud of myself. They just all left on the party bus to go have all their drunken sloppy fun, but I am here at home on a Friday night doing absolutely nothing other than playing an MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online game). It's kinda sad, but then again, when I go into my doctor next time and he tells me that I'm healthy finally...I'll have a smile on my face.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday evening.

As a side note to this...

One of my friend's who I haven't seen in a few months said "Whoa. Have you lost weight? Your face is looking much skinner!"

That was also a huge motivation to not go out. Go me.

Creature, I'm rooting for you, but some of your antics really piss me off.

First, this should be about you, and not wanting to be a fat ass. It's as simple as that. Do you want to go to the beach and be confident? Do you want to be able to do yard work one day without a shirt on, and feel good about yourself? Do you want to be able to play sports with friends again, and have fun? Do you want to live a long, healthy life, with hopes of one day seeing your kids/grand kids grow up? If none of this matters to you, then don't waste your time.

But if you do want to live a healthy life, like you've indicated, then you need to man up. Changing your lifestyle for a few measly points? Why? So you can someday get an ipad? Go work like everyone else - you'll get a ipad. Points shouldn't mean anything to you...if I were you I would be concerned with not getting diabetes or dying of a heart attack. You are obese, and it's not healthy. That should be enough motivation my friend.

You don't know me, and that's fine. I've been i Afghanistan for 4 months now, and there are boatloads of people wo just eat bread and water all day long, because its what they have. They don't eat to make their parents happy - they don't have that opportunity.

My advice to you? Stop spending so much time at your computer - and go outside. Go for walks. Go to the gym, get a job that requires some manual labor. And when you do indeed get some down time to watch TV and relax, incorporate exercises with it. Practice doing planks as you watch TV - I do it. During commercial breaks, see how mnay pushups/situps you can do. Start doing plyos...do something that doesn't involve sitting with a bag of Cheetos.

Creature, I'm pulling for you, like we all are. But you need to toughen up, realign your priorities, and get your act in gear.

I always just overindulged during meals. I just ate 2 or 3 portions instead of 1. I have never been much of a snacker.

But consider doing small things while you watch TV. Commercials do an exercise or something...it will make a difference.

I feel your pain when it comes to not being able to go out on the weekends. I went from being a bartender at a casino partying every day to cold turkey sobriety without a drop of the white lightning. It is a very difficult transition. I just weighed myself creature and I am down to 225. My weight loss isn't happening as quickly as it was when I was up around 245, but I am starting to see the positive results of all that hard work. I ride a bike hard as I can for a mile 2 ways in the hardest gear right after I wake up, and today I am going to start p90x and hopefully not quit in the middle like I have in the past. Keep fighting the good fight bud! I am pulling for you as you already know.

One of my friend's who I haven't seen in a few months said "Whoa. Have you lost weight? Your face is looking much skinner!"

That was also a huge motivation to not go out. Go me.

Thats great news!! You are on the right path bro. You will see the more you eat healthy the more it will just become your lifestyle and wont get the cravings for bad food.

How you feel and how you look in the mirror is the real barometer. I went from 200 to 165 and lost almost all muscle and water weight. I ended up with a higher BF% after losing all that weight. Eat good, lift hard and remember that the sugars gots the AIDS. Avoid at all cost!
