That’s what happened. More jobs which has revitalized their once dead economy. There has not been a rise in crime. Houston has grown from 2.2 million to 6.8 million in the last 10 years. It has basically tripled. Springfield could only hope it could see as much growth as Houston. Simple google search will give you your answer. The metro area of Houston is HUGE. It will take you hours to go around beltway 8. We’re building another beltway which will take you over a day. Land mass, this city is ridiculously large and keeps expanding out every day. Nowhere to go but out.

Ohio has some of the highest numbers of crime. Cleveland was the murder capital of the world when I grew up there. Why? No jobs. People flocked out of Ohio as steel and manufacturing jobs left. Crime grew. Now Springfield is growing with jobs and money. Haitians are working there. Do you really think they are committing crimes with good jobs? Come on man, think. I'm not sure I believe in TENS OF MILLIONS coming into the country. I would see that here in Texas. I'm mixed on the subject. I blame both parties, especially the Republicans who have turned this issue into one of hate and division. They both need to come together and come up with solutions. There isn't an easy solution. I will keep telling you that we indeed need illegals in this country to do the shit jobs our own people won't do. If you think inflation is high now, get rid off every illegal tomorrow. There's also different shades of illegal. You need to understand status and everything is not so black and white. I don't like anyone breaking laws. But some of the immigration laws may need to be adjusted. We may need more temporary status for people to work. I do not have the solution on how to fix the southern border. It's been a problem for at least 50 years now. I do know that criminalizing people, especially young children is not the solution.
I think the US has to be strategic. Identify certain countries that we can help build up their infrastructure and stability, so that their people wouldn't want to leave their country. But you better make sure you have enough people to work here.Comment -

I live in a city that has one of the most immigration, legal and illegal in the past 3 decades. I’ve also lived in 3 other border cities and own property a long several ofthe southern border cities and northern as well. I’ve hired thousands of people in the oil and gas business. I’ve expanded into renewables. If you need drilling, completions engineers, you come to me. You need the leading metallurgist, the best hydraulic Fracture engineer, you come to me. You need a lab to investigate the BP spill in the GOM, where do you get them. You need the top lawyer or chief financial officer or top tax attorney, do you get it. I have no idea or give zero fukks when you say this country isn’t working. It is working, people are working, maybe you’re not working. That’s a you problem. In the last 3 years I hired the top 25-30 leading Hydrogen experts in the world. They all are in the US. If we don’t get them Europe and Asia will get them. You want to guess how many were born in the US? Both parties have allowed talent and both have run up the debt.
