#3684They did not fly in 20,000 people. Haitians have been moving into that city the past 5 years. What is the results? More businesses, more companies and more money. The city is thriving right now. That’s what happened. More jobs which has revitalized their once dead economy. There has not been a rise in crime. The Haitians have been upstanding citizens but here comes JD Vance trying to politicize and spread hate. It’s despicable.Comment -

#3685Musk has taken billions in handouts form the federal government and States.
However, over the years, Musk's companies — Tesla Motors, SpaceX, and SolarCity — have received billions of dollars from government loans, contracts, tax credits, and subsidies. According to a Los Angeles Times investigation, Musk's companies had received an estimated $4.9 billion in government support by 2015, and they've gotten more since.
4.9 billion before 2015. Not counting what he has gotten since then.

San Antonio, Austin, Dallas have all blown up. Why? Jobs. People bring jobs and money. They work and pay taxes. Some of you look at immigrants as threats. Smart business people see it as opportunity. Houston is an extremely ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Houston home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. People of Hispanic or Latino origin are the most prevalent group in Houston, accounting for 44.83% of the city’s residents (people of Hispanic or Latino origin can be of any race). The greatest number of Houston residents report their race to be White, followed by Black or African-American. Important ancestries of people in Houston include German, English, Irish, Italian, and French.
I have been to Houston many times. I lived in Costa Rica for 17 years, I really liked the people. I like Houston. Great Vietnamese food I thought.
It has a high crime rate as well unfortunately. But its a big city so its not as surprising.Comment -

#3694Houston is the most diverse city in the world. It is also the fastest growing as a result. That’s how America got to be number 1. Growth, expansion. China and India will outpace us IF WE DO NOT GROW. That’s why we need immigrants. Anything less is stupid. Countries that close their borders are not world leaders. Republicans know this. They’re playing you.
you grow your country from within. You can also grow it with legal immigration.
Also, the USA takes in 1.2 million legal immigrants every single year. No other country comes close. You can allow just anyone to come in. You wouldn't allow just anyone to enter your house. You wouldn't let anyone just walk into the Stadium and sit at the 50-yard line. There are many laws and rules a country and a civilized society has which make it a great place to live. If you allow just anyone to do anything they want who aren't even from here (the country), then you have chaos and lawlessness or whatever you want to call it. But it sure as hell isn't a country anymore.Comment -

I think the US has to be strategic. Identify certain countries that we can help build up their infrastructure and stability, so that their people wouldn't want to leave their country. But you better make sure you have enough people to work here.Comment -

#3706I'm not sure I believe in TENS OF MILLIONS coming into the country. I would see that here in Texas. I'm mixed on the subject. I blame both parties, especially the Republicans who have turned this issue into one of hate and division. They both need to come together and come up with solutions. There isn't an easy solution. I will keep telling you that we indeed need illegals in this country to do the shit jobs our own people won't do. If you think inflation is high now, get rid off every illegal tomorrow. There's also different shades of illegal. You need to understand status and everything is not so black and white. I don't like anyone breaking laws. But some of the immigration laws may need to be adjusted. We may need more temporary status for people to work. I do not have the solution on how to fix the southern border. It's been a problem for at least 50 years now. I do know that criminalizing people, especially young children is not the solution.
I think the US has to be strategic. Identify certain countries that we can help build up their infrastructure and stability, so that their people wouldn't want to leave their country. But you better make sure you have enough people to work here.
35 trillion in debt? Billions spent on nation building other nations and endless wars? Billions on election campaigns? Countless millions in the country that are here without permission. We aren't talking about a few hundred or thousand, we are talking about tens of millions, and so many of those people you have no idea who they are? You do see what some greatest cities in America have turned into over the recent years? Tent cities expanding every day and its not getting any better. I think even you can admit that. Do you believe in the rule of law?
The country is run by idiots. This is a fact and its been that was for a long time now. I see it, many see it, but also many refuse to admit what they know is true. Its denial of observable reality.Comment -

#3710ok so you think doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is the solution? Why are you so convinced you need millions of illegals? No you are right, its not an easy solutions. Its takes guts to admit its niot working and quit doing the same things that have got you in the mess you're in. Am I wrong? I mean generally speaking? If so, then why keep doing it? Why keep voting for the same people who want to keep doing the same things? It's insanity! Isn't it? Sure it is.
