1. They didn't comprehend the primary method of transmission\
2. They were (unduly) afraid that people would rush out hoard all the PPE needed by health care workers.

So many rebels on here being big strong men by disavowing masks lol.

I don't care what you do, but imagine if you got covid and since you are such a big strong healthy man that you barely even feel like you have a cold for a few days... but then someone else in your family gets infected, perhaps your elderly mother... which is odd because she barely leaves the house... in fact she's only been in contact with a handful of people in a week and a half... and the only person that she's seen with a cough was you. What if she died? I don't envy anyone that would have to live with that for the rest of their life.
