School Cop Puts 5yo Special Needs Boy in CHOCKEHOLD for Singing in Class

Fairfax, VA — The taxpayers of Fairfax, Virginia were put on notice this week that they will be shelling out tens of thousands of dollars to pay for a school resource officer who couldn’t control his anger and attacked a 5-year-old little boy — for singing in Spanish class.

Pamela Ononiwu, 37, a mother of three, recently settled a lawsuit against Fairfax County Public Schools for the horrifying mistreatment her son suffered while in their care. Ononiwu’s nightmare started on Oct. 3, 2018 when she went to pick up her son, listed as DO in the lawsuit, to bring him to a dentist’s appointment.

Before Ononiwu reached the principal’s office to pick up her son, she could hear him screaming in agony. He was being attacked by a cop — more specifically, he was in a chokehold.

“To my shock and horror, I found my son being put in a chokehold,” Ononiwu said. “This school resource officer was holding him at a 90 degree angle. My son kept trying to kick to get out of it, and the tighter the grip got.”

Ononiwu said her motherly instincts kicked in and she demanded the officer let her son go, though she was worried that the officer may come after her next.

“I repeatedly told him to let my son go. I was scared because I was like, ‘Will I also be shot dead trying to save my son?’ But I said it’s worth it because I’m not gonna be here and let my son die or pass out in front of me,” she said.

Eventually, the officer let her son go and pushed the boy away from him. Equally as shocking as a massive police officer choking a little boy was the reason for the interaction in the first place. When Ononiwu asked why her little boy was being treated in such a violent manner, she was told that DO, who has ADHD, was singingly too loudly in Spanish class. Seriously.

After the officer finally let her son go, Ononiwu tried to alert the school officials to what just happened to her son. But nobody cared. The school officials had apparently been so conditioned to treating children in this manner that it was entirely normal to them.

“Nobody thought it was heinous that a child was in a chokehold. No one had any empathy,” Ononiwu said.

Frighteningly enough is the fact that it wasn’t only her son who was abused by these monsters in school. Her daughter found herself in a scary situation as well — which is apparently part of the school’s policy.

“Both my son and my daughter have been subject to restraint and seclusion,” she said. “They dragged my daughter one day. My daughter told me they dragged her into a room; her shoes were in the hallway.”

In her lawsuit, in which she was joined by two other parents who faced similar nightmares, Ononiwu called for a change to the abusive practices when it comes to children with special needs.

“There are alternatives. There are other ways to do this. If you are claiming a child has things to work on, the solution isn’t just to throw them in a room. If I did that at home, they’d call Child Protective Services, so I don’t understand why it would be allowed in schools,” she said.

As for her son, no amount of money will ever undo the fear he felt that day and the repercussions that will likely last the rest of his life.

“He told me and another adult that he thought the officer was the devil and he was scared that he was gonna die,” she said.

Sadly, Ononiwu’s story is far from unique. Over the years, as the education system becomes more dependent on the police state, violence against children has been steadily increasing. Take a stroll through our archives to find out just how bad it really is.

Cop ID refusal usually leads to cops intimidation because their egos get hurt. Know your rights and always record the police. Cops will always try and ID you so a refusal hurts and their ego won't let them leave it. When cops get an ID refusal they sometimes make up laws to try and get you to identify. Refuse to ID to a cop and then you will find their intimidation tactics will kick in and they will do all they can to get ID.

Before Testifying On Fellow Officers Covering Up a Murder as a Suicide, Officer ‘Dies of Suicide’

Sacramento, CA — Sgt. Kevin Steele, 56, was a whistleblower officer, who, according to multiple sources, attempted to expose corruption, evidence planting, and murder — covered up as a suicide — in his department. Instead of taking his claims and investigating them, however, Steele was barred from the grounds and placed under investigation. He was recently found dead in August and his death ruled a suicide.

“At every single juncture where I discovered something that resembled corruption, wrongdoing, exploitation, fraudulency and/or breeches of trust, I ALWAYS alerted supervisory staff and institutional leadership, as that is what I thought was the desire of both the administrative staff and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation,” Steele wrote in a memo in January to the prison’s warden. “However, it would appear that is NOT the desire of either entity.”

Steele had claimed to have evidence of “rogue” guards planting weapons and drugs in inmates’ cells to obtain more overtime, spreading false rumors and relaying private information from inmates’ files to other inmates in violation of department policy.” Even more damning, however, is that on at least two occasions, “guards have been directly involved in the killing of a CSP-Sacramento inmate,” and covering it up, John Balazs, an attorney representing an inmate said in court documents, according to FOX 13.

Another attorney, Steve Glickman, told The Sacramento Bee that Steele informed him that evidence had been suppressed in the death of a 29-year-old inmate found dead in his cell. According to the report:

"Corrections officials said he hanged himself alone in his cell in 2016, leaving behind a suicide note, and Glickman filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the inmate’s family.

But Steele said another inmate had confessed on video and in writing to the slaying, but that the confessions had disappeared. Glickman said Steele immediately informed the prison warden and had been set to testify publicly when he died."

Steele had been attempting to expose this corruption for months and alleged in a February memo to Corrections Secretary Kathleen Allison that prison officials had responded with “indifference” to his reports of wrongdoing.

“I am NOT a disgruntled employee seeking vengeance,” Steele wrote to Allison. “Instead, I was a witness to an ISU (Investigative Services Unit) which became engulfed in corruption and watched as integrity was forced to cower in terror and fear of retaliation!”

Adding to the suspicious nature of the entire ordeal is that another whistleblower, who came forward with Steele, was 30-year-old Valentino Rodriguez, who was found dead last year. His death ruled an accident — fentanyl overdose.

Both Rodriquez and Steele were part of an investigations unit, tasked with investigating crimes committed inside the prison. Since their deaths, the entire unit has been replaced and 10 officers are facing discipline relating to Rodriguez’s death, corrections department spokeswoman Dana Simas told the Bee.

“We do take every allegation of misconduct by staff very seriously, and work hard to ensure there is accountability when allegations are sustained,” Simas said in an email to The Bee.

Steele’s claims are hardly unfounded as the jail has already prosecuted a case of officers covering up the death of an inmate. Two officers were charged last year for faking reports in the death of a 65-year-old man.

According to FOX 13, Ashley Marie Aurich pleaded guilty in January to lying in her account of how another correctional officer yanked the legs from under the handcuffed inmate in 2016. The two guards were escorting the prisoner, who struck his head on the concrete and died at a hospital two days later. The second officer, Arturo Pacheco is awaiting a trial on charges of deprivation of rights under color of law and two counts of falsification of records in a federal investigation — not murder.

Unfortunately, cops who point out corruption in their department and attempt to prevent violence, often times find themselves on the receiving end of this justice system — persecuted for doing the right thing — while their corrupt counterparts remain unscathed.

                ‘He’s a Monster!’—Cop Sentenced to 20 Years After Admitting He’s a Serial Child Rapist

Jacksonville, FL — It was a dramatic day in a Jacksonville courtroom this week as multiple child victims spoke out at disgraced officer, Matthew Butler’s sentencing hearing. After facing a slew of charges related to the sexual assault of multiple children under the age of 10, Butler pleaded guilty to just three charges. However, they were so horrific, that he received two decades in a cage.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, the child-raping cop pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted capital sexual battery involving two separate survivors. A third charge involving a third survivor was resolved and incorporated into the plea agreement.

Butler had faced more than a dozen charges, including child porn and molestation, but they were all dropped as part of the plea deal. Despite dropping the charges, Butler still received a far steeper sentence than most cops in his shoes.

His victims took to the stand in the tear-filled courtroom to recount the horror this “monster” has caused them.

One of Butler’s victims, now just 15, took to the stand and told the courtroom how this man’s abuse has ruined her life but she stays alive just to make sure he pays.

“Every time I think I am past it, a sound or something I see makes it all come back to the day it happened,” the first survivor to speak said. “I feel humiliated and worthless thinking about what happened. It’s a struggle to get out of bed every morning because I wish I could just disappear, and all of this would just go away.”

Another victim told the courtroom that she now sees Butler’s face in men on the street causing her a life of suffering.

“Every day since you took my childhood from me at the age of 8, you Matthew Butler made it impossible for me to walk down the road at night,” she said. “When I go anywhere and I see someone who is bald and looks as evil as you, all I remember is you Matthew, your mugshot. Your mugshot is imprinted in my brain, imprinted in my brain so bad I hurt myself because of you.”

The child victim said that making sure Butler ended up in prison was the reason she’s made it through all these years.

“But then I stop and remember I have to stay alive for this day to get justice not just for me but for every single girl in this courtroom,” the 15-year-old survivor said.

Naturally, despite Butler pleading guilty, his attorney maintains his innocence, claiming Butler doesn’t remember any of it.

“He has absolutely no recollection of any of these events ever happening,” attorney Mitch Stone said. This statement rings hollow given the fact that nude photos of the victim were found on his phone.

One of the victims pointed out Butler’s callousness during her testimony, drawing attention to the fact that he sat there with a stone cold emotionless face during her testimony.

“He wasn’t even shedding a tear. It looked like he didn’t even change his whole facial expression. There was plenty of victims standing up there crying on the stand, or crying in the seats, and not one facial expression changed, which shows that he is a predator,” she said. “He is a monster, and he obviously doesn’t care what he did to those girls.”

Butler was a nine-year JSO veteran when he was arrested in March 2019. He was being held without bond when another victim came forward in 2020.

“One thing about children is when there is consistent history being given to investigators by more than one person and those stories line up, it’s hard to dispute what they’re saying,” Ken Jefferson, a former sex crimes investigator at JSO told News4jax.

According to the 15-year-old girl, there could be more victims and she urged them to come forward in the courtroom on Wednesday.

Rochester Police Officer Steven Kovacic Arrested for Drunk Driving

Rochester Police officer Steven Kovacic was discovered passed out drunk behind the wheel in Wayne County on Monday. He was arrested for drunk driving, driving to the left of pavement markings, and illegal parking. Deputies say that Kovacic was partially blocking traffic on State Route 441 East of Canandaigua Road in Walworth with his vehicle and they were able to determine that Kovacic was drunk despite his refusal to take a breathalyzer test. He was booked and released with orders to appear in court in the near future. The RPD has re-assigned Kovacic to administrative duty.

"I accidentally kicked him in his face," said the lying POS wearing a costume and badge. As the video shows, this was an intentional, deliberate kick to the head while the man was handcuffed on his back. The other blue line gang members on the scene conveniently failed to mention the kick to the man's face in any of their reports. The coverup was exposed once the bodycam footage and police reports were made public.

Woman Missing for 2 Weeks, Found Dead in Police Van, In Dept’s Parking Lot—Family Demanding Video

Huntsville, AL — If you are looking for a parking lot or building with the most surveillance cameras in place, a police station would likely be a good start. There are likely many cameras around every police station, filming the building and the parking lot alike. It is this video footage that the family of Christina Nance is demanding from police after she was found dead in the back of a Huntsville police van — parked in the middle of their parking lot.

Police have not yet released video showing when the van was parked there or how Nance, 29, ended up in the back of it.

Nearly two weeks ago, the Nance family was shocked to learn that Christina was missing and they’ve been frantically searching for her ever since. Then, on Oct. 7, they found out where she had been — dead, in the back of a police van, in the police department’s parking lot.

”We have no idea how she ended up there out of all places, why there out of all places, why there,” Whitney said. ”She was in the van the entire time and nobody knew. Not even the police department knew.”

According to police, an officer walking through the parking lot discovered Nance’s body in the back of the van. Police claim they leave the doors to the van unlocked all the time so anyone could climb in there.

The idea of police leaving their vehicles unlocked is ludicrous given the gear that is inside them, not to mention, vandals and others who may seek to get inside them.

According to the Madison County Coroner, Nance’s body didn’t show any signs of trauma but the family is still suspicious and want to know some answers.

”That’s why we want answers, and we want to see the footage. We do not believe that our sister would just randomly walk to a van and climb in it. First of all, why wasn’t the van locked on police property? Everything should be secured and locked,” said Nance.

But the family hasn’t gotten that footage and police are ignoring them. According to WAFF:

"The Nance family says Christina visited the department often for help and even called family members to pick her up from there from time to time. They went to Police headquarters the very next day wanting to see any surveillance video that may answer their questions and was told the investigator handling their case was out of the office.

They say no one has reached back out to them or even offered their condolences."

“We can start the healing process so we’ll know exactly what went on,” said Nance.

Unfortunately, it seems that they may not know what went on for some time as it has now been nearly a week since Christina’s body was found in the van and the family has no more information than the day that she was found.

According to the family, an autopsy is going to be performed this week to determine the cause of her death. They are asking for donations to help pay for funeral expenses and an independent autopsy.

Another blue line gang member caught sleeping on the job. The pig stated that he was waiting for someone, but when confronted about sleeping in the patrol vehicle he drove off.

Cop Finds SD Card in Dept Locker Room Belonging to Officer Who Was Secretly Recording Child Undress

Primera, TX — A disgraced cop from the Primera Police Department has been handed down a significant sentence this month after pleading guilty in an utterly disturbing case. Ex-officer Joel Alex Sandate, 32, was sentenced to ten years in a cage after admitting to installing hidden cameras to record a child undress in her bedroom. Had it not been for a random act in the department locker room, this monster may have never gotten caught.

Imagine going to work and randomly finding an SD card on the floor. When you put that SD in your computer to see what is on it, you find disturbing videos of a child undressing in her bedroom. Well, that is exactly what happened to a cop in Texas who discovered that one of his fellow officers was secretly recording a child in her own bedroom.

According to the plea agreement, a fellow cop was getting dressed in the locker room and found the “micro SD card” on the floor. Not knowing who it belonged to, he put it in a card reader:

"The officer used a card reader to view the videos of the ADATA Micro SD Card and viewed what appeared to a be a minor female in a bedroom in various states of undress. The officer then saw a video of what looked like fellow police officer JOEL ALEX SANDATE looking into the lens of the camera and adjusting the angle of the camera after looking back and forth to his phone and the camera lens. Officer Lopez reported the contents of the ADATA Micro SD Card to Special Investigations Unit with Cameron County District Attorney’s Office who then obtained an arrest warrant for JOEL ALEX SANDATE."

After he was arrested, a search warrant turned up multiple hidden cameras in the bedroom of the child once authorities found out who she was. They also found more cameras in the officer’s personal vehicle.

According to Department of Homeland Security agents, videos found on Sandate’s devices dated back two years meaning he began recording his victim when she was just 12. The most recent videos, according to the DHS, “depicted a minor female (age 14) in various states of undress” on the defendant’s nefarious collection of cameras, cell phones, and storage cards, the plea agreement also states.

“The videos met the statutory definition of child pornography pursuant to Title 18 U.S.C. Section 2256(8)(A),” according to the document.

While this case is certainly shocking, the real shocking truth is the fact that TFTP has reported on several instances of cops doing this exact thing — within the last ten months.

As we reported in February, a top cop with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office was arrested and charged with utterly disturbing crimes for spying on the little girl. Marc Swain, 47, is a crime scene investigator with the sheriff’s office who found himself on the other side of the law after his arrest on multiple counts of voyeurism and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Swain is accused of hiding a recording device in a bathroom used by a 12-year-old girl. The girl told her parents about the camera after she noticed a camera lens in various places moving around the bathroom every time she showered. His victim discovered the device herself.

Also, as TFTP reported in December, just like Swain and Sandate, a Mandan police officer in North Dakota set up a camera in the exhaust fan of a bathroom to record a young girl getting in and out of the shower. The person alleged to have put the camera in the fan is 45-year-old Scott Warzecha. Warzecha was the main suspect because the camera in the fan was on a cellphone that belonged to the cop.

According to the Morton County Sheriff’s Office, the girl found the camera after a shower and when she looked on the phone, she found multiple videos of herself showering. The minor told deputies when they reviewed the 15-minutes of video, they could see themselves undressing and getting in and out of the shower.

Warzecha was charged with felony sex crimes against a child — one count of using a minor in a sexual performance and two counts of surreptitious intrusion.

Court Tells Arkansas Troopers That Muting Anti-Cop Terms On Its Facebook Page Violates The 1st Amendment

When government entities use private companies to interact with the public, it can cause some confusion. Fortunately, this isn't a new problem with no court precedent and/or legal guidelines. For years, government agencies have been utilizing Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. to get their message out to the public and (a bit less frequently) listen to their comments and complaints.

Platforms can moderate content posted to accounts and pages run by public entities without troubling the First Amendment. Government account holders can do the same thing, but the rules aren't exactly the same. There are limits to what content moderation they can engage in on their own. A case involving former president Donald Trump's blocking of critics resulted in an Appeals Court decision that said this was censorship -- a form of viewpoint discrimination that violated these citizens' First Amendment rights.

A decision [PDF] from a federal court in Arkansas arrives at the same conclusion, finding that a page run by local law enforcement engaged in unlawful viewpoint discrimination when it blocked a Facebook user and created its own blocklist of words to moderate comments on its page. (h/t Volokh Conspiracy)

This case actually went in front of a jury, which made a couple of key determinations on First and Fourth Amendment issues. The federal court takes it from there to make it clear what government agencies can and can't do when running official social media accounts.

Plaintiff James Tanner commented on the Arkansas State Police's Facebook page with a generic "this guy sucks" in response to news about the promotion of a state trooper. That post was removed -- then reinstated -- by the State Police.

While that may have been a (temporary) First Amendment violation, the court says this act alone would not create a chilling effect, especially in light of the comment's reinstatement shortly after its deletion.

However, the State Police took more action after Tanner contacted the page via direct message with messages that were far more direct. In response to the State Police's threat to ban him if he used any more profanity in his comments, Tanner stated: "Go F--- Yourself Facist Pig." For that private message -- seen by no one but Tanner and Captain Kennedy, who handled moderation of the State Police page -- Tanner was blocked. Kennedy compared the block of Tanner as the equivalent of "hanging up" on a rude caller.

The court disagrees. It's not quite the same thing. "Hanging up" on someone terminates a single conversation. What happened here was more analogous to subjecting Tanner to a restraining order that forbade him from speaking to state troopers or about them.

Adding to the First Amendment violations was the Police's handcrafted blocklist, which added words and phrases not deemed offensive by Facebook's moderation rules. This was apparently unexpectedly revealed during discovery and the blocklist shows the agency engaged in automated viewpoint discrimination.

"In addition to selecting a profanity filter setting, Facebook page administrators can also add specific words to a filter list. Corporal Head added the following words: "jackass", "pig", "pigs", "n*gga", "n*gger", "ass", "copper", and "jerk". Doc. 70-14 at ,r 15."

These terms blocked a couple of Tanner's last comments on the State Police page prior to the agency blocking his account completely. The court doesn't care for this at all.

First, it says the agency doesn't even know what content it's blocking because it has yet to obtain a list of terms/phrases blocked by Facebook's moderation efforts. Without this information, it can't definitively testify how much otherwise permissible speech is being blocked by proxy.

Far more troubling is the State Police's artisanal blocklist, which obviously aims to mute as much criticism of law enforcement as possible.

"There is no plausible explanation for the words "pig", "pigs"," copper", and "jerk" being on the State Police's list of additional bad words other than impermissible viewpoint discrimination."

This is an additional First Amendment violation, above and beyond what was affirmed by the jury's verdict.

"The slang terms "pig", "pigs", and "copper" can have an anti-police bent, but people are free to say those words. The First Amendment protects disrespectful language. And "jerk" has no place on any prohibited-words list, given the context of this page, the agency's justification for having a filter, and the harmlessness of that word. Though some amount of filtering is fine in these circumstances, the State Police's current list of specific words violates the First Amendment."

Tanner wins. The State Police lose and will hopefully learn something from this remedial First Amendment class. Whatever judgment is rendered (Tanner was only asking for nominal damages in one count, but there are multiple allegations here), the State Police will have to pay. Qualified immunity has already been denied and the additional determinations made by the court make it extremely clear this was clearly established violation of Tanner's First Amendment rights.

Henderson County, NC — Over the weekend, police were called out to a disturbance report during which they walked past a “Beware of Dog” sign, and encountered a resident’s dog. During the debacle, one of the deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office did what so many other police officers do when confronted with dogs — he tried to kill it. Instead of killing the dog, however, he shot his fellow deputy.

According to Maj. Frank Stout, the incident unfolded on Sunday around 7 p.m. as police were called out to the alleged “disturbance.” The disturbance was reportedly taking place at the home with the “Beware of Dog” sign and police were warned there were dogs at the residence.

When deputies knocked on the door, they saw two pit bulls inside the home so they backed up off the porch and waited for the homeowner to answer. When the door opened, according to the deputies, a pit bull ran out of the door “aggressively” at them.

“Deputies retreated from the house and porch after they knocked because of the aggressive nature and size of the bulldog,” Stout said. “The door opened and the pit bull aggressively came at the deputies. One deputy was able to divert the charging pit bull and it turned toward another deputy and lunged at him. That deputy fired, striking the bulldog. One of the rounds fired by the deputy ricocheted off the ground and struck the first deputy in the leg.”

Instead of dealing with the alleged disturbance, police then turned the call into an emergency response situation to get the officer to hospital.

“With the current road construction, officers escorted the ambulance in case an alternative route had to be used and stopped or slowed traffic became an issue,” Stout said.

Fortunately, the deputy survived and his injuries were not serious. He was treated and released according to police.

According to Stout, after the deputy shot his fellow deputy, the dog ran back inside the home. The dog’s condition is unknown and whether or not there was an actual disturbance at the home remains unclear.

No arrests have been made and the sheriff’s office hasn’t released any further information.
