Yes, the guy was a science fiction writer on some sea org... Who probably got political and got popular with celebs, and it all fell in to place, working for pennies, severe punishments " losing family " the worse, that place for sure has ruined a lot of lives, hallelu-Yah it's crumbling...L Roy Hubbard was one seriously fukked up dude... can you imagine spending thousands upon thousands going up the "bridge" and getting to OT111 ... only to have hubbard tell you, that 75million yrs ago, the world was basically as it was in the 50s and that people were loaded into planes and dropped into lava volcanoes and they became thetans... when we are born, we are born with all these body thetans (spirits) attached to us and we had to get rid of them, of course, by paying more and going through more levels

I would ask people pray for Mr. Kent Hovind, he should be home already but he's been found guilty of contempt from something in 07. Guy has been locked up for a very long time, and get this .... wait for it..
the prosecutor on his case was locked up for soliciting a five year old and raping her, then committed suicide in jail...the judge on Kent's case said his charge was " worse then rape " then had it erased from the transcripts, that should be a call for mistrial alone... From my research Kent Hovind is criminal who pick and chooses parts of the bible for his benefit. I'll pray the Lord has mercy on him. He belongs in jail. He went out of his way many times to cross the bible and specifically the Word of Jesus.
He should have rendered to Caesar what was Caesar's. He's no role model. You're right Freeze, he should be in prayers, but not that he be freed; rather that the Lord puts it on his heart to follow Christ.
To me, supporting this fellow any other way does not seem biblical from a New Testament perspective.

You must be kidding right? I used the WikiPedia entry for him and many of the 219 footnotes included. If he is correctly quoted in those sources, then he verbally and directly contradicts Jesus' teachings.
I like his message, but not coming from him. I understand current Science, the Bible,and the current state of the New World Order to a more satisfactory degree than Hovind. I also don't consider him a very good spokesman for his many causes...if what I read is true, then I feel he gives those who fight for the truth a bad name.
And yes, he evades taxes and illegally classifies his possessions to directly contradict Jesus' teachings. I don't see how this can be an opinion.Comment -
He's as a liar and deceiver. It's truly a shame when someone like that does reach so many people. I can only pray he plants seeds that God will nurture.
He reminds of the guy who used the Bible to mathematically predict exactly when Jesus would return. He spent countless hours to painstakingly come up with a date based on in depth Bible research.
He must have missed that part when Jesus says no man will ever know.
Same story with Hovind. He neglects important parts of the Bible to further his agenda.
And Brainfreeze don't judge me. I can agree with the message that he tries to convey, but acknowledge he does a poor job of it. There's nothing about that stance that implies non-Christian.
Also, don't get so hung up on Wikipedia, there are plenty of court documents with claims and quotes from Hovind himself.Comment -

to answer the op,
#1 I would start with simple question. Where does life come from.
Life reproduces after its own kind, people make people, horses make horses.
Nature does not have the capacity to create life.
God created life.
Then you have people called atheists, they try to obfuscate what they believe or don't know what they believe.
They believe that natural processes of nature caused non-living matter to form life. Then that life reproduced other than its own kind over successive generations.

I can agree that Kent doesn't know everything ... He never claimed to, but yes he does a good job of exposing evolution for what it is... A lie, I wouldn't say he's naive, more outspoken and takes a different approach then everyday creationist.. I'm not going to say he's right about EVERYTHING he says though, doesn't the Word say let God be true and every man a liar ? Gods word is what I hang my hat on, it's trust worthy and without fault, Kent is human... He's not perfect, but I agree with a lot of what he says and I support what he has done and no matter what anyone says or does to him, I will still stand behind him.Comment -

By the way KVB, I don't know you personally and we don't know Kent's heart, but I believe he is a man of God, so anyone who says their Messiah is Christ Jesus, and believes the Holy Bible to be the inspired word of God, lives and preaches to that effect, I'm with them, him and you alike...so let's not get down on kent, there's a lot of propaganda to his case and a lot of strange facts as well.
