    24th place (61.53 cash)

Had a ton of chips early was first place for about 45 minutes.

Lost a race with 99 v AJ, then was low had AA beat A8 of diamonds all in pre, got me back to 50k.

Shoved with blinds at 2500/5000 50k UTG+1 with A10 of hearts big blind calls with k9off (half his chips WTH) flops the king

I had been playing pretty snug at that point, but thats why I play tight because of calls like that and I don't like the shoves with medium suited connectors.

My last day will actually be July 30th most likely. I should be up a little under 200 total at this point. I have 3 more buy ins to 40. I probably can play Monday-Thursday every day, which leaves one day I can miss if something comes up assuming I don't reenter. Even if I brick out, I will have a very small profit. If I can get a decent score, the numbers will look much better. I won't be able to play until Monday.

Thanks pablo, we were kind of deep heads up, so it sucked to see this right away. Never had any kind of battle.

                        July 29 buyin 40 player 1

This will be my last tournament for this today. I have pretty much made all of the pre event goals thanks to yesterday.

                          final update (today pending)

                          want 1 win (a 2nd and a 3rd was best I did)
made 4 final tables, that was the original goal
11 cashes, 10 was the goal

Up 855.79 (trying to win 600, pulled it off in the nick of time)

I have some final thoughts, but I will wait until this is officially over.

I was super low but I busted in disgusting fashion nontheless. Shove 3300 at 400 800 with 10j of spades next player calls with 108 of diamonds have 2 spades on the turn and he rivers one of his 2 good 8s.

                            FINAL THOUGHTS

I profited roughly $20.50 a buy in, which is very high for a 33 dollar tournament. Do I think if I played another 40 tournaments I would make that much? Probably not. Was 40 enough of a sample size for this event? I don't think so. Usually, I would say at least 1 buy in for every 2 players would give you a good sample size, so probably more like 100 buy ins for this tournament.

The 2 main things I did early were to keep the pots small and wait for big mistakes, and play nutmaking type hands only (suited broadways, suited wheel aces, suited broadway aces, pairs). Now, the better the position, the more hands I played, but I was super tight from early position early in the tournament. I did feel like I had about 2 hours to build a stack as from about 4 or 415 until the money hit (usually 515-530), the tournament was pretty bad. I say this because a ton of late entries come in and waste the time looking for a quick min cash). After the bubble bursts and the ones who survived bust, the tournament gets decent again for the remainder.

                            FINAL STATS

4 final tables in 40 games, which is 10%. The average would have been around 2. I'm not surprised I was able to better this as a lot of stacks left late were late entries who survived the bingofest. I actually thought the play was better at the beginning for the most part, as there wasn't as many punters as I recall early on when I used to play here frequently. The big difference of course was that there was much less room to play later on in the tournament. 11 cashes in 40, which is 27.5%. The field usually paid about 22%, which is high, so I wouldn't say I destroyed that by any means. I also think this was a by product of better players at the beginning of the tournament, because I didn't build as many large stacks as I usually did before.

Thats about all I have to say. I really didn't do anything special IMO. I just waited for good hands and was positionally aware.

                            FINAL PROFIT = 822.79
