#108yikes down to 2000 on the second buy in, kind of made a bad call but this guy had been very loose up to this point
lost 1500 right away to a low stack big blind (q10 v k8) and had 77 on a 2924 board with 2 spades on the flop he had a2, actually he played it well, felt like he had the spadesComment -

#11030 buy in update
10 more buyins minimum (2 reentry used)
want 1 win (Had 1 really good chance)
made 3 final tables, want at least 1 more
7 cashes, going for a minimum of 10 (still think I have an ok chance, but getting a little dicey)
Up 212.67 (trying to win 600, gonna need at least a top 3 probably)
If I stop at 40 buy ins and don't cash anymore I will lose about 120 FWIW, but I plan on going until August 2 unless I hit all the goals before that.Comment -

#114thanks pablo was down to 970 now close to 20k, obviously got lucky a few times in there.
Was pretty much around the starting stack the whole time guy limps 1000 (10k stack) his first hand i shove 11k with 88 he calls with k9 off and rivers a 4 card flush. was in for 870 (after ante) next hand and won a 4 handed pot with k4 suited. about to cutoff entries right nowComment -

#117good news I cashed
bad news I have to put it in next hand after the break have 17k blinds are 3500/7000 and I'm big blind (18 left)
Lots of fluctuation and then card dead after the money bubble, had about 45000 in the small blind shoved Q6 at 2500 5000 against a 20k stack and he had 10s, so that's how I got so low. Have folded every hand since, but I have to play the next hand.Comment -

#11817th place (76.31 cash)
Huge stack min raised UTG+1 I had 77 actually in the big blind he has A5 offsuit and flops the ace.
Not sure how I got 17th instead of 18th but that was about 14 bucks more FWIW, almost an extra half buy in.Comment -

#121OK. I'm saying that some of the new tournaments have the Big Blind pay ALL the antes in the later rounds. So, it might be 1 BB + 8 1/8 antes, for total of 2 BB.
It's a trend in some tournaments. Best of luck, mate.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#125Ok here's how it went down.
First hand is at 600/1200, next hand is the last hand of 600/1200 (also the close of registration), technically I bust first hand of 800/1600
First:
Me 22192 (about average) SB with 33.
Button 9760.
BB has 12kish.
Button shoves (no real read), I reshove, BB folds. Button has k9offsuit and wins. I decide to shove here because button is very low and I expect very wide shoves from the button. I do think this is a tight spot. If I lose, I have one more shove really. If I win, I feel like I can take some chances in the right spots. If BB is deeper, I do think I fold this as I could see looser calls from him. If I'm BB instead of SB, I think this is an automatic call, but this is debatable from the SB IMO.
Anyways all folds until this (last hand of 600/1200):
I have 11712 and A9o UTG (8 handed) I shove next player has 11613 and calls with QQ. I ace the turn and he rivers a straight to leave me with 99 chips. Usually I would fold here but I don't think I can get through the blinds (would be down to 9k, much lower than I would like to be). If I am still at 20kish, this is an easy fold preflop. I would expect to be dominated if I get called by anyone except maybe the blinds or maybe a big stack with a pair. The only good thing about the hand is that I block an ace.
Last hand (first hand 800/1600):
Somehow it was interesting even though I am all but out. I get AK offsuit in the "BB"
MP has 12800 and raises to 3931 (awful IMO, definitely AI or fold)
CO has 20840 and calls (also seems to low to be calling, especially when you see what he has)
flop the joint 10jq rainbow they check
turn 3 of clubs (2 clubs out there now) MP shoves CO calls
55 MP 78 of clubs CO
river Qc.
I guess you can say I'm looking for opinions on the first 2 hands. Chucky, thanks for the video, remember that one from years back.Comment -

#127Trin, I think that incident + ones like it led to the Big Blind ante rule. Takes a long time for dealer to count up the antes. And they have to remind players every 2nd hand or so.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#13126th place (63.87 cash)
The deck ran me over for about the first hour, then not much after that. Ended up shoving 26k at 2k/4k with a8off from middle position big blind called with kjoff and turned the king.
The field did seem softer today FWIW as Bovada is running a summer series, so its quite possible the regs are concentrating on that instead of playing the typical events. Hopefully this helps me over the last 2 weeks.Comment -

#133Proof you can still win money in poker:
I didn't win this hand but heres how it went down.
100/200
UTG makes it 450 MP calls I have 1010 on the button I call BB calls (10k effective stacks)
flop 892 (1900 pot) rainbow BB check UTG 1300 MP folds I call BB call
turn 4 (2 clubs now, 5800 pot) BB check UTG 2600 I fold BB shoves 6600 AI. UTG has AA BB has 8s3s
AA holds
We can't be sure what the BB was thinking, but I would fold his hand preflop and on the flop with a bet and call in front of me.
On the turn its obvious UTG has an overpair, so he must think he has him beat (idiotic) or he can get a fold (also idiotic, because its only 4000 more into a pot of about 15000).Comment -

#134busted at 200/400 (sick beat here)
UTG +1 makes it 900 Cutoff calls I shove 4300 (really low for this early, kept running into hands like the 1010 AA hand) on the button, UTG reshoves (like 20k, about as much as the cutoff has) CO folds
UTG J10 of diamonds, Me JJ
Flop A910 all hearts (have Jack of hearts) turn and river 10.
Not going to be able to play tomorrow.Comment -

#137Yes, if you are going to play deep (early in tournaments or cash games) you have to be able to lay down hands. I think most good tournament players who are bad/average at cash games, are calling too much.Comment -

#138I have to say now that I am coming to the end of this, one thing I definitely like more about PokerStars is that the tournament doesn't get bogged down nearly as much on the bubble. They usually cut off entries around 12 bb or at the least 10, and you dont get as much of a clock on there as you do on Bovada. Bovada usually gives you more of a deeper stack early, but PokerStars probably has more even tournaments overall where the average stack gradually goes down in terms of big blinds. Too many players coming in on Bovada with 8 big blinds trying to win one hand and min cash (and sucking a ton of time while they are at it).Comment -
