I haven't read all of this thread and have more to do than that but I'll tell this. I used to teach and coach high school in the inner city in Memphis. They created a job for me at this particular school. I was taught reading to low IQ students. We read nursery rhymes and learned how to spell our names and such. Anyway, some of the kids would tell me about their home lives. They learned to do drugs from their parents and bros and sisters. They also learned how to work the system. Some were taught how to act "crazy" so they could draw a "crazy" check each month. This would pay for their Air Jordans and Playstations. They also waited on the welfare checks so they could get some beer and drink it with their cuz. I decided I would teach them how to properly open a mailbox because that was all they really needed to know how to do.

This, Seer, is exactly what I have a problem with. My argument is just that if we make it harder for those "parents" to collect checks, we can lessen the chances of having families on welfare for generations.

YOU CAN NOT over ride 15 or so years of programming in a short time... They can be "re" taught but NOT in a short period of time and keep in mind when they leave the school they go back home for more reinforcement on what they were taught to begin with...

What's really stupid is people expect these kids that were "taught" one way to just wake up out of the blue as adults and just know better... People should know better is a ridiculous statement...

The kids can be "re" taught I have no doubts about it but not through the convential way... Since you have 15 years of programming to over ride you have to "re" teach them through their "SUB" conscientious mind NOT their conscientious mind...

For fun the gang would go and kill people or rape girls... Well they reformed him by using "trama"... They "forced" him to stay away and watch videos of killing people and raping girls... They "forced" his eyes open to continue to watch this and did this repeatedly... When they let him back in society "if memory serves" he was either badly beaten up by his gang or killed because when it was time to go out and do the usual he could not do it and would not... There are ways of tapping into the "sub" conscienctious mind and not being so abrasive but "trama" is VERY effective...

Here in Toledo when I played and you went to parents night you would see the inner city schools mostly have at least one if not both parents escort their kid... In the mid 90's "one" parent became really dominant with "guardians" here and there... I went this year and there is hardly anyone that has even "one" parent escorting them... Friends, boy/girlfriends or sibblings were by far the dominant ones this year...
