We all "met" on the American Idol forum 3 years ago and found we share a warped sense of humor. Unfortunately (well not really) there was a group of crazed fans that did not share (or like) our sense of humor. So we made fun of them. They got most of our little group banned so one guy had his friend make us our own slice of internet heaven aka "Banned Camp". Any of you are welcomed.

I never assumed that there were two parents in the house, but if one is working and it's not enough, the other should be working and the kid should be in daycare, or AT THE VERY LEAST, they should be taking care of the child, not letting it run in the street.

Are you seriously bringing up my dog again? I won't even dignify your attack with an answer, but please remember that I have dog, not a human child. BIG difference. I brought him up only to illustrate that I make sacrifices to keep him healthy and happy...I think people should be able to at least make some of those sacrifices for their human children.

Your biggest problem regarding this issue is that you constantly compare yourself to the welfare people... Why should "they" when "I"... My point is people with attitudes like this should never have a job in the health and human services sector... Get that "chip" off of your shoulder...

Me? I have a chip on MY shoulder? No. People who think nothing of living off of the system and still feel they're owed more have a chip on their shoulder. Why is it that you don't feel that people should't be held to an equal ethical standard? Should we not punish crimes carried out by people in low income areas as harshly because they "don't know any better"? This is society's #1 problem, in my opinion. Excuses. The world would be a much better place if people were made to take responsibility for their own actions. Everyone has their issues to overcome...just because I grew up in a middle class neighborhood, that doesn't mean I didn't have tragedy in my life that I could have let break me. But here I am working and functioning as a contributing memeber of society....and money is coming out of my paycheck to help people that have never worked a hard day in their life....am I'M the one with a chip on my shoulder? I'M the spoiled one?

All the stuff you mention IS AVAILABLE why do you make it sound like it isn't..? The people making the decision to embrace it is another thing... You want to give them clothes instead of giving them money to buy them because you don't think they will make the right decision... They can STILL make the decision to sell/trade shoes and clothes for crack... Your theory is not even a band aid...

Oh, and your theory is going to fix everything? Ha!

Not all of those things are available...if they are, they're being under-utilized....obviously, people need some motivation to take advantage of the programs that can actually help them out of the hole...I thik less cash is a good start. Sure, they can sell/trade children's clothes for cash...but don't you think that a crack dealer is going to start turning people away once they've accumulated 15 pairs of kids shoes and have no money to get more rock?
