#4762The point is the access is available at much better rate if you are someone who is trying to keep their head above water, in danger of losing everything. You can still avoid tax by reconstituting funds. Either way, there is plenty of incentive for someone who wants this money and can find other things to do with it besides sitting in a fund they are watching dwindle just before getting ready to retire. I am not saying this is the better option by any means, quite the contrary...it would be foolish to pull funds until recovery...but for lots of people desperate times lead to extreme measures. Then you have some guys on SBR who might take out of their retirement funds to bet on Chiefs -700 vs Dolphins thinking they’ll just pay it back when they win 😂Comment -

#4763Well now that you mention the Chiefs at -700 against the fish, that sounds like a better investment than my 401K recovering by the end of the year. Time to call Fidelity tomorrow.Comment -

#4767Do you guys think the riots have any impact on the markets? especially particular companies?
Also there is tension in South China Sea, if that escalates it will get interesting.Comment -

#4769Would you kindly direct me to a resource to better understand how one can liquidate their 401k without penalty. I lose sleep trying to figure out how to get my money out of my 401k with limited taxation. I am not subject to the early withdrawal penalty.Comment -

#4771Plenty of stocks in the portfolio there.
I just went neutral Friday right before the President made his china announcement so I don't have many stocks I am current holding long or short.
The FED needs to rotate into the bank stocks because that is where small businesses get the money to start with, so with out the financials this market will remain sickly. I'm looking for the FANG stocks to continue to roll over and money will try to rotate into the banks so I'll be looking to short the FANG when I get a chance. GS, BAC, JPM are all on my long list, as well as the whole sector etf XLF because those will have to start leading for the economy to come back and the FED isn't gonna let the market collapse just yet during an election year. The healthcare stocks you sited are all in my target sites for short plays if they come out with a vaccine story. Basically, I'll let them run for the day of the vaccine announcement and then short them right before the close. Take a look at the vaccine stocks for the last 3 hype jobs and you'll see what a great play that is. I'll also be looking at the industrial sector etf XLI and names like CAT and BA. Also looking for long plays in energy like XOM and SLB. I'm not in any of these at the moment like I said, but next week I'm be looking for an entry in them.
For the super long term I'm holding SPH because it is a slow mover but has 15% dividend every year. I am also in many utilities due to the low interest rates and these consist of my entire portfolio right now.Comment -

#4774Slightly bullish market so far
I rode on riot stock DGLY to a nice profit this morning and may jump back in at 2.2
taser stock AAXN saw a big pre market move and could test $82
I went all with draft Kings and scooped up another batch of shares at $41 early this am.
AESE is another lower prices esports Corp I bought at $4.80 but you may see 4.5 sometime today.Comment -

I like the overall XLU play just because the interest rates are at an all time low again. Utilities operate best on low interest rates and usually a good place to park some money I would otherwise like to place in a savings account but due to the non existent savings rates I just can't justify any more. My other savings technique is to utilize bonds which are a way of guaranteeing a return, but I find that utilities typically would yield a little more return while also allowing for more liquidity.Comment -

#4779Yeah, my SPH play is a forever in the future type of game for me. It regularly has a 15% annual dividend which is given quarterly in equal increments. They are primarily a propane supplier along with other energy or utility services. Typically it is a slow mover, if you look at the last 20 years, for the first 10 they rose from the 20 dollars per share to about 60 dollars per share. Then for the last 10 years it has been a steady decline to around the 20 dollar level. Since about the mid point of 2017, the stock has fluctuated between 26 and 22 dollars a share. That is pretty much as stable a price as it gets with few exceptions. In march it plunged along with all the other stocks to around 11 dollars a share, and since then it has been on a steady march back, but since it is a slow mover it is hard to notice. Like I stated the main reason I'm in it now is because I believe it will make it back to the 20 to 25 dollar level by this time next year, and I expect the dividend to continue. So with a 15% return every year, that is enough for me to be in it, and if it does make it back to the 20 dollar level in a year from now, that would represent around a 40% gain.
