There is a chance both Pirates RHP Charlie Morton and RHP Gerrit Cole could be scratched from their starts Sunday against the Brewers and Monday night against the Chicago Cubs because of shoulder discomfort. Twins signed DH Kendrys Morales to a one-year, prorated $12 million contract.
Advice: He'll receive about $7.6 million in the prorated deal. Morales is in uniform and available off the bench for the Twins on Sunday. He'll serve as the Twins' everyday designated hitter, replacing Jason Kubel. Morales hit .277/.336/.449 with 23 homers and 80 RBI last season for the Mariners.
