The streets of north London were red last night, with Arsenal fans celebrating their first Premier League title in 22 years until the wee hours of the morning. But, no time to sit on our laurels, the 2027 Premier League odds are already out, and we're going to have a look at whether the Gunners can repeat as champions.

If not Arsenal, then who might hoist the trophy next season? Which team's fans are suffering through the longest slumps (and do they have any chance of actually snapping the slump?). Let's dive in.

⚠️ Only 18 Teams!?

The league will have 20 teams when the action gets underway, but notably the table above only has 18 teams. The two missing teams are:

  • Either Tottenham or West Ham United -> one of the two current EPL teams will be relegated to the Championship in the final week, one will stay in the top tier
  • Either Hull or Middlesbrough (or maybe still Southampton?) -> The Championship final is a mess. Southampton beat Boro in the semis, but have been expelled from the final due to breaches of EFL regulations -- including taping a Boro practice. However, the squad from southern England has appealed. Who knows which side Hull will face in the Championship final to earn a promotion

Regardless of which of the two squads rounds out the table, they won't be a real competitor in the league. Even Tottenham, who would probably open with the shortest odds of the lot, won't be seen as a squad that can realistically vie for the title.

⚽ Premier League odds favorites & long shots

Arsenal (+150)

The Gunners snapped a 22-year drought with their title this year, the first time they've hoisted the trophy since their incredible Invincibles run. After three straight seasons finishing as runners up, it was a huge relief for the team and its fans.

The offseason is likely to bring some changes to Arsenal, but most of the key pieces are expected to return. Arsenal will look to bolster their attack with upgrades and depth signings on the left wing and right back position.

These odds are insanely low for a full season future, but Arsenal should at least be in the mix throughout the year.

Manchester City (+250)

City came up short in the chase for the title, but still captured two domestic cups this year. Talk of "rebuilding" is largely overblown by fans trying to talk their way out of not winning the league.

Pep Guardiola is expected to leave at the end of the season and will reportedly be replaced by ex-Chelsea bench boss Enzo Maresca.

It's a big question mark for a team loaded with talent.

Liverpool (+500)

Things have gone incredibly poorly for Liverpool this year in their title defense, as the squad finds themselves on the cusp of reaching the Champions League. It looks like they will, but it's tighter than many imagined it would be.

There is still plenty of talent here, but Mo Salah is leaving town and faith in Arne Slot is not exactly at an all-time high. This team needs to shore up some serious issues, as it looked for most of the season like they never truly figured out how to move on from Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving. Attempts to bolster the attack were mired with injury and slow integration.

Man United (+700)

This is one of the most interesting selections near the top of the board from the teams that one might think "can actually do it." United had a fantastic second-half of the season, posting 39 points from Matchday 19 to Matchday 37, just one off the pace of league leaders, Arsenal (40 points).

Casemiro is on the way out of town, the defense is getting older, but the deep pockets of United and the draw of playing with a team with such history will make it easy (in the grand scheme) to fill those holes. Plus, they're back in the Champions League, which is an important draw for many players.

With these odds, I find this as the most attractive of the top four heading into next season.

🚀 True long shots?

While historical odds aren't particularly easy to track given different trackers using different dates, we can have a general look at preseason odds in the history of the Premier League.

Outside Leicester City, winning with a +500000 preseason odds line, no team has ever had odds longer than +650 and raised the trophy at the end of the season. Don't get carried away.

🏆 Premier League title droughts

The Premier League was formed in 1992. With its formation, the top flight of English football forever changed.

Only seven teams have won a proper "Premier League" title: Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Leicester City, and Liverpool. Outside that list, no team competing in the Premier League next season has ever won the title.

Team Last Premier League Title (Number of years of drought) Odds to win in 2026-27
Arsenal 2025-26 (0 years) +150
Liverpool 2024-25 (1 year) +500
Manchester City 2023-24 (2 years) +250
Chelsea 2016-17 (9 years) +1000
Leicester City 2015-16 (10 years) N/A - Leicester is relegated and will play in League 1 next year
Manchester United  2012-13 (13 years) +750
Blackburn Rovers 1994-95 (31 years) N/A - Blackburn will play in the Championship again next year

However, some of the other teams have "top flight" titles that pre-date 1992.

Team Last Top Flight Title  Odds to win in 2026-27
Leeds 1991-92 +50000
Everton 1986-87 +25000
Aston Villa 1980-81 +2500
Nottingham Forest 1977-78 +50000
Ipswich 1961-62 +200000
Tottenham 1960-61 N/A - May still be relegated to the Championship
Sunderland 1935-56 +75000
Newcastle 1926-27 +4000

That leaves Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Coventry, Palace, Fulham, Hull, Middlesborough, Southampton, and West Ham without a top-flight title in their history.
