It's going to be a chess match, and I quite like this one to be tied up at half. It wouldn't be the most shocking game to be tied at full time.

But ultimately Mexico will benefit from the home crowd and from the elevation bonus of playing in Mexico City. This price is fair for now, but not far off the "pass" for me, which would probably happen in the 70 cent range.

Score prediction: Mexico 1, Ecuador 0

💵 My best pick: Regulation time: tie YES (34 cents)

Ecuador scored just two goals in the Group Stage and will be looking to pick its spots very carefully. Mexico scored five of its six goals in the second half.

Both managers will prioritize caution and hope to capitalize late, hoping a 1-0 line gets them to the next stage. Knowing they have an extra 30 to try to sort things out, the push to get over the line before penalties.

🦶 Who will score in Mexico vs. Ecuador?

Follow all of our expert soccer analysis for World Cup 2026.

Julian Quinones, F, Mexico (26%)

Chances will be few and far between tonight, so the pick to score will be Mexico's leading scorer through the Group Stage (with just two goals, mind you). He has a marginally better price than Raul Jimenez.

Quinones brings an electric pace and is incredibly strong, so he's as likely to score as anyone.

Best Mexico vs. Ecuador goal-scorer pick: Julian Quinones (26%)

One of the legs of my favorite World Cup parlay today comes from this game, as I hone in on the half-time moneyline.

🥅 Will both teams score in Mexico vs. Ecuador?

Both teams run a very tight ship on the defensive side of things, allowing just two goals across six games between them to reach this point.

With the knowledge that goals will be at a premium tonight, I'm leaning into Mexico continuing their shutout streak and running it to a fourth game, keeping the anemic Ecuador offense off the board.

Both teams to score (BTTS) pick: No (59 cents)
