Harry Kane has scored three times at this World Cup, but he faces a tough defense in Congo in the Round of 32. Looking at the best Harry Kane props and odds, it seems that most oddsmakers are expecting a fairly solid game from the Three Lions striker. However, I have lower hopes for England's leading scorer in this match because of how well the Congo defense has played, mixed with Kane's struggles to get shots up.

‼️ Not a pushover
With solid performances against Portugal and Colombia, the DR Congo defense has shown it is very good. Therefore, it's hard to love many Kane Overs in this match, especially when every major sportsbook has him at -110 or better to score.
While I'm supporting two Kane Overs, only one of them actually involves him doing something meaningful near the net. Don't make the mistake of assuming this Congo team is a pushover.

Harry Kane Over 1.5 fouls won (-125) vs. Congo
Kane has earned four fouls at this World Cup, drawing at least one in all three of his matches. While he's only won more than one foul in one match, that performance came against Ghana. I expect this game to play out very similarly to that one, as England held possession for 79% of that contest but wasn't able to score a goal.
Congo has also committed at least 10 fouls in two of three games, committing 16 against Colombia. This really just comes down to Kane getting enough touches to earn fouls, as he has only 44 in his last two matches.

Kane's success at drawing fouls with England extends back to World Cup qualifying. Kane won two fouls in three of his final four games, and he drew at least one foul in five of his eight contests.

Five shots may not seem like a lot, but Kane now has three shots in four of his last five matches with England. While he started off the World Cup with seven shots against Croatia, he has just six total in his last two matches.
When Kane recorded seven shots against Croatia, the Croatians also managed to score twice before halftime. Congo doesn't have the offensive firepower to score more than once, if at all, against England. Therefore, I don't expect Kane to be on the attack any more than he was against Panama or Ghana.

Harry Kane Over 1.5 shots on target (-138)
While I don't expect many shots from Kane, I will back his opportunities to be high quality. Six of Kane's 13 shots at this World Cup have been on target. Additionally, he has had two or more shots on goal in two of his three World Cup matches, and in three of his last five matches with England overall.
Thirteen of the 32 shots Congo has allowed have been on target. Colombia put 45% of its attempts on target against Congo, with multiple players recording two shots on net.
