Canada vs. Morocco Prediction: Best World Cup Picks at Kalshi (July 4)

Morocco's defense will look to stifle Canada's offense and send the first World Cup host nation packing.

My best Canada vs. Morocco prediction highlights why the Canadians will be the first host nation out of this year's World Cup. Morocco has held Brazil and the Netherlands to one goal each, and I believe the Moroccan defense will be too much for the Canadian offense to overcome.

Morocco has a 72% win probability on prediction market apps, as I make my best World Cup predictions for Saturday's matchup, with kickoff from NRG Stadium in Houston set for 1 p.m. ET (FOX, Telemundo, FOX One).

Canada has scored only once in three of its four World Cup matches. Now, the offense is tasked with deciphering a defense that just held the Netherlands to one goal, two shots on target, and only 0.24 expected goals.

While it took penalties for Morocco to defeat the Netherlands, the 2022 semifinalists missed four big chances and had the ball for 70% of the game. I expect Morocco's offense to take advantage of opportunities against a defense that failed against Switzerland, its only real test of the tournament thus far.

Score prediction: Morocco 2, Canada 0

💵 My best pick: No - Canada Over 0.5 goals (44 cents)

It took until second-half stoppage time for Canada to score against South Africa. And while this is an offense that has produced a lot of opportunities, Canada struggled to finish against South Africa, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Switzerland.

Morocco's only clean sheet at the World Cup came against Scotland, but the way the defense turned up the pressure against the Netherlands was incredible. If Morocco plays with the same intensity, Canada won't have many chances at all.

🦶 Who will score in Canada vs. Morocco?

Follow all of our expert soccer analysis for World Cup 2026.

Achraf Hakimi, D, Morocco (15%)

Hakimi is a defender, so this is definitely a long shot. However, Hakimi has been very offensive-minded at this tournament, with 13 shots and four shots on goal. He even scored against Haiti in the final group stage match.

Against the Netherlands, Hakimi ended with three shots, one of which was on target. His attempt was a good one as well, as he finished with 0.23 expected goals. Also, to beat Canada, teams usually need to rely on someone other than a forward, as two of the three goals Canada has conceded have been from midfielders.

Best Canada vs. Morocco goal-scorer pick: Achraf Hakimi (15%)

🤑 More goal scorer picks

I focused on French megastar Kylian Mbappe while offering another goal scorer pick in my World Cup predictions today.

🥅 Will both teams score in Canada vs. Morocco?

With Canada Under 0.5 as my best play of this game, it should come as no surprise that I don't think both teams will score. That said, the price for Canada Under 0.5 is significantly better than the price for both teams not to score. Therefore, there's no reason to make this play, as the only way Morocco doesn't score in this game and Canada does is if the Moroccans get a red card early.

Both teams to score (BTTS) pick: No (54 cents)
