Eagles vs. Patriots Prediction, Picks & Best Bets: NFL Preseason Week 2 Odds

The Patriots are being undervalued in what should be a low-scoring game against the Eagles.

My best Eagles vs. Patriots prediction focuses on the offensive struggles of both of these teams last week. In their preseason openers, the two combined for just 20 points, and I'm expecting both offenses to struggle again tonight.

The Eagles are a 2.5-point betting favorite ahead of the 7 p.m. ET game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Below, I explain why I think oddsmakers are undervaluing the Patriots. The contest will air on NFL Network and stream on NFL+.

💰 Pick ⚖️ Units 🧠 Why I bet this
Patriots moneyline +2.5 (+108 via FanDuel) 1u → 1.08u The Eagles' offense only managed 159 yards last week.
Under 36.5 (-110 via FanDuel) 1.5u → 1.36u Neither offense topped 13 points last week, and neither team is expected to play key starters.

💰 Eagles vs. Patriots best bet

Under 36.5 (-110)

Neither of these offenses impressed last week. The Eagles managed just 159 total yards and six first downs, while the Patriots scored only 13 points despite forcing four turnovers. And unfortunately for both offenses, the starters aren't coming to save the day. Jalen Hurts still hasn't played in the preseason since 2022, and even if Drake Maye starts, I'd be shocked if he plays a whole quarter.

The only thing preventing me from making this more than a 1.5-unit play is that both defenses were bad last week. The Eagles allowed 440 total yards, and the Patriots allowed 355.

Score prediction: Patriots 14 Eagles 7

🚀 Eagles vs. Patriots same-game parlay

The only positive to come out of the Eagles' first preseason game is that they didn't turn the ball over. Still, the offense was stagnant, the defense couldn't get a stop, and their only points of the game came with 2:14 remaining. I truly don't understand why they're still favored, so I'm backing the Patriots outright. That said, as I already highlighted, I'd be shocked if this isn't a low-scoring game.

💡 How I'm betting Eagles vs. Patriots: NFL preseason strategy

Follow all of our NFL analysis and betting advice for the 2026 NFL season.

I don't like to wager a lot on preseason games, but I feel there is value in this contest. The offenses were so bad last week that I'm willing to risk 1.5 units on the Under. And since the Eagles showed so little life on both sides of the ball, I'm wagering one unit each on the Patriots to win and a parlay featuring the Under and New England. The Patriots had a lot of issues last week, too, but the Eagles' problems were more glaring.
