By any stretch, being promoted to the Premier League is a tall task, that's looking especially true for Hull. That's why my Hull vs. Manchester United prediction expects a strong start for the visitors, but recognizes there's not a lot of value to be snagged from the Manchester United -300 three-way moneyline price.

So before kickoff at The MKM Stadium in Hull at 7:30 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, we're going to find three bets you can target for maximum value. Catch all the action on USA Network or Universo.

Manchester United Over 2.5 goals (+137)

It's a combination of factors that makes this play at plus-money my favorite for the same. First, United was an absolute force once the calendar flipped to 2026, posting some of the best numbers across the Premier League.

The price is doing a lot of the work here. The Over 1.5 is -225; it's not appealing. But United will want a fast start, and Hull are widely seen as the worst of the three newly promoted sides. In the Championship last season, they allowed a whopping 1.64xGA, not exactly the kind of number that inspires confidence that it will slow down the likes of Diallo, Bruno, Cunha, and Mbeumo.

This price implies United hit 3+ goals about 42% of the time. I see it happening closer to 53-55%, so for me, it's presenting excellent value.

🆚 SBR Edge: New Year, New United

United went a whopping 12-5-2 from January 1 through the end of last season. Utd was the league's highest-scoring team after the flip to 2026, with 36 goals on 30.80 xG. That's incredible efficiency, as players like Cunha and Mbeumo settled into their new teams after taking a while to find their feet.

During that stretch, they scored three against Arsenal (A), Aston Villa (H), Liverpool (H), Nottingham (H), and Brighton (A). Every team on that list will dispatch Hull with no great difficulty this year, and United should as well tomorrow.

🔥 More Hull vs. Manchester United expert picks

Manchester United Over 17.5 shots (+137)

United's season average last year sits right around the Over 15.5 (-137) line, but I'm feeling greedier given the strength of the matchup here. This isn't an average Premier League opponent they're opening the season against, it's Hull.

The underlying defensive numbers don't align with the promotion result, and the game state should play right into this wager. If United score early, Hull will need to open up, which should lead to more shots. If it stays tied through the first half, United will step on the gas to open with a win. If Hull scores first, United will need to chase and should take more shots. The odds here against apply about 42%, while I see the number in the 48-50% range, probably.

Manchester United -1.25 asian handicap (-133)

I've already explained why I think the Red Devils will have the run of play on Saturday morning, but I'm a little guarded on the spread. I'm going to be playing the -1.25 instead of the -1.5. It's an early start. It's a team on the road. You just never know.

I'm happy to think that United dominate the run of play, but instead of aiming for a two-goal victory here, we're giving ourselves a half-loss with a one-goal edge instead of a full loss. Just playing a little cautious with the early Saturday game, early season, and on the road. I suspect this one is a full cash, but who wants to risk it this early in the season?
